Belt tensioner and idler pulley failure 39K

    Well the belt tensioner and Idler pulley closest to it are giving up the ghost at 39,000 miles. Have an appointment at the dealer to replace them. I have never seen a tensioner fail this quickly or a idler pulley. Kinda bummed that these pieces are failing at such a low mileage.

    Bought my truck used with 26000 miles roughly same amount of mileage 35 maybe 45, mine was squealing, changed out on my own, hour lil more

    Yeah stuff I would normally do if it were not under a platinum warranty. Just crappy that Toyota has fallen under the buy part from the lowest bidder category.

    I started getting a squeak from what I think is the idler pulley (the top right little wheel if looking at the motor), I was thinking no way not with only 40000 miles. Now i see I'm not the only one... is this covered under extended warranty (Platinum)?

    It was my idler pulley, warranty took care of it.

    Did mine on my Tacoma at about 75k Miles. Interesting to know the Tundra has a similar issue.
