I started doing bottling. I quickly ran out of patience with the bottling method. Things to consider:
    1. You only clean 1 (one) keg for 5 gallons. You clean 55 12oz bottles for 5 gallons
    2. Keg fills in about 10 minutes with zero waste. Try filling 55 bottles - takes forever and lots of spilling.
    3. Keg uses c02 to carbonate. Bottles use sugar to carbonate - risk of too much carb and "beer bombs" going off in the garage/pantry
    4. My MOST favorite reason - Keg carbs in 4 days, beer drinkable in less than a week. Bottles - well plan on waiting about 3 months.

I started off brewing with beer kits, but found I really like doing all grain brewing. It is a small investment for equipment but the quality of the beer and the creativity are unlimited.

In addition to what you have now for bottling - to do a kegger you need a space you can store a 5 gallon soda keg, CO2 dispensing and the hoses and fittings. If anyone has homebrew questions I'm happy to try to answer them!
    Happy drinking...

My current keg is a recipe I brewed up. I call it "Smokin Rubia caliente" (Smokn' Hot Blonde). It is a Pale Ale with chipotle peppers and smoked grains.

I'm about to keg a Pale Ale recipe I call ROTR Brothers Broth. It is named for my riding group - Republic of Texas Riders. My riding brothers seem to migrate over to my house everytime I get a keg of it cold, and then they float it, and I end up in the Dog House with the wife b/c of the all night hell raising that occurs. It is based on a local brewery recipe from North by Northwest (NXNW) called Duckabisch. I just kick up the ABV to 7%.

There is a local beer fest next Friday the 20th. If you volunteer to be a poorer of beer you get in free and get to sample all the beers.
I volunteered. It is all craft beers nothing mass produced. The only rule when volunteering is "don't be that guy or girl".
    Looking forward to it!

Grabbed a six-pack of these tonight, locally made, suits the fridgid weather just fine. 8.5%, going down very nicely. My overall favourite lager is made by them too, but it's not a lager day today.

It's not that thick. Lol But it will knock you off your feet after a few beers at 12.4%. I love beer and I love bourbon and this beer has both. See I typically don't like IPA's because the hoops over power all the other notes in the beer. But I know lots of buddies who love IPA's.

The amount of small craft/micro brewers these days just blows my mind, there is so much to discover out there and EVERY visit to the beer store is a delight, especially those with the tasting stations. Good times indeed, cheers (hic)
