Looking at getting a bedrug for my truck. Does anyone have a pic or video of the inside of their bed after a yr or 2 of using it. How does the paint look under it. Can’t find any videos on it. Have searched all over. Thanks

Don’t have any pics, but I’ve had bed bedrugs on 2 trucks. Very happy with them. They are bomb proof and worth every penny.

I’ve had my bed rug since 2018. Last time I’ve checked it looked fine. I’ve carried some heavy equipment 800 to over 1000 lbs laying on it and holds up fine. One time one of the caster wheels got stuck on the bed rug and got caught and tore a hole in it. Paint still looks great.

I've had a bedrug for about a year. Have the factory/dealer spray-in liner under it, and it's also under a tonneau, so not sure you'd get much of the info you're looking for. But I've thrown all kids of stuff in on it and it's always cleaned up fine. I have the bedrug that also goes up the front, the sides and the tailgate.

I had one on my old Toyota truck for roughly 20 years. Under the rug was nothing but dirt/dust and a few pine needles. That rug stood up to a ton of abuse. The only downside was that it shrunk a bit when I washed it after sinking my truck in mud. It was still in the truck and in great shape when I sold it about a year ago. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy another if I were in the market. Sorry, no pictures.

How do these hold up without a cover. Do they dry quickly?

I can't comment on holding up without a cover, as I have had mine maybe 8 months and have a Snugtop, but it dries faster than you expect. It's not material like carpet; it's plastic. It does not absorb water like cloth or a rug, and dirt washes off really easily. And I can crawl around back there in comfort. When I was on vacation last year, 'truck camping', I had kept the Snugtop windows open because it was warm out; but I guess it was monsoon season, because the clouds rolled in and it dumped buckets while I was in the restroom, and by the time I ran back and closed the windows, it was WET in there. The plan was to sleep back there though. A few paper towels and an hour drying time (rain rolled outa there thankfully) and it was dry. So far I like the BedRug.

It dries in a reasonable amount of time. I never had any mold or mildew problems.

I had one in my uncovered truck for 8 years. In Phoenix. It held up like a champ. The warranty on these is very good, if you need it.

It also dries fast, but when it’s 115 degrees out, most things do. :)

That was the first thing I added to my last truck and the first thing I added to my new one. My last one lasted seven years and was still in great shape when I traded it in.
Install took about an hour. The side tie rails (or whatever they're called) was the toughest part. Getting the sides up and in place and the screw through the bed rug and lined up properly. A bit of a pain in the ass, but it came out really well.

I’m sure you’ll be happy with it. I didn’t have a cover over my first one and it held up for seven years through Michigan and Indiana winters.
Autoanything.com had the best price I was able to find when I got mine last fall.

I had a full Bedrug in my 2005.
I had a Retrax cover on it.

Since the 2014 had a OEM spray in liner, I bought the Bedrug mat and tailgate mat.
I have an Undercover Flex cover on it.

I never took them out, but I love(d) having them in.
They will easily pull out if needed.

I had my bed rug on my 2005, paint spills, glue, caulk, and held up well for 13 years until I traded the truck in.

So exactly what is the interface with the bed rails (the channels with movable tie-downs, which is bolted onto the vertical face of the bed)? I can't see from the pictures. Do you have to remove all 3 bed rails, install the BedRug, and then reinstall the bed rails on top of the Bedrug? Do you have to punch holes in the bedrug where the bolts go through? It sounds like a pain in the ass, but it also sounds like it clamps it in place real good once you're finished.

I just cut off the area around the bed rail mounting points.

Yeah. I had found that a lot of people just cut the bed rug down just under the rails. I didn't like that so I took the extra time to fight with the screws.

I took the rails off, got the bed rug lined up and in place, used a small nail stick through to make sure that each hole was lined up one by one, then used a set of vise grips to hold a larger nail and heated that up with a lighter to burn a nice little round hole through the bed rug right where is needed to be. The pain in the ass came from getting the screws to go through the rail and the rug and still have enough thread to catch and screw on it. They're pretty short and really don't have a lot of extra room. It's not horrible. It just takes a little extra time and added pressure on the screws and making sure that you don't cross thread anything. As the picture shows; it is very doable.

Have had mine for almost 5 years. It’s held up really well, despite dirt, rocks, gravel, spills and heavy cargo loads. The hook and loop adhesives did not stay on, though, and it almost flew off while driving down the highway. Same for the tailgate piece. I followed installation instructions for bedlined beds, though, so not sure why that happened. I now have it covered with a Diamondback bed cover, so that’s no longer a problem. I do notice that if it gets wet, it won’t dry as fast when covered. Otherwise, I really like mine.

I did the same. I just didn't feel like fighting the screws. There's a line around the backside of the rug that shows you where to cut. You can really beat the shit out of them and they hold up great.

Thanks for the detail. Ordinarily I would totally go the pain-in-the-ass route because i like the idea of the bedrails clamping down on the bedrug, and really holding it in place good. But, I have a 600 pound camper shell thing, which clamps down to the bed rails. So they need to really be on there. I don't like the idea of the bedrails not having the originally-engineered amount of bolt depth for this application, so I guess I'll just cut the bed rugs if I go that route. Plus those 14 torx T30s that hold the bed rails in are kind of a bitch, not a big fan of Torx, I had the bit slip in a few of them when cranking them down (after my Line-X guy barley hand-tightened them back on post-spray) so I'm afraid if I fuck with them any more I'll end up stripping them out really be up a creek!

    Hi All.

OK - got a new '21 1794 (with BED RAILS) and looking to get the bed mods in the correct order.

So I am going with a BAK Revolver X4 and the AMP Research Bed Extender.

I've had previous Tundras and in those I went with the FULL bed rug, mainly because my last Tundra didn't have a spray on liner.

This time around I have a spray on line, so I am thinking about just doing the mat instead of the full rug. Good or bad idea? Think I will regret going with the full?

    Interested in others thoughts. Thanks!

Mine has the spray on liner and I went with the full bedrug just so it looked better all the way around. Plus, if I'm hauling something that shifts or loading/unloading something that scraps, it adds a bit more protection.

I have had a Bedrug in all of my trucks since the early 2000's without any damage to the paint. They are one of the best accessories that you can add to a truck. If you need to slide something heavy in the bed, just throw a sheet of plywood on top of it.

Just removed mine after three years. Paint underneath was in perfect condition. Only issue I ever had was since I live in a wet cold climate, it never really got a chance to dry out after it got wet. This last year started noticing a wet dog smell coming from it. On sunny days when I could I’d leave the tonneau open and that would take care of any odor for a while. Only reason I took it out was to get a liner sprayed in before I mount my decked system. If it went for that I’d still have it and wouldn’t hesitate to put one in any future truck. I just wish they made the impact liner for our trucks.

I went with the FULL bedrug, on top of a LineX spray-on liner.

The LineX was to protect the bed against rust, because there were some deep scratches in the bed factory paint, from shit sliding around. It also provides slight insulation.

The bedrug was because it's an overlanding rig, and I needed to be able to live in the back and crawl around without getting bruises. It adds great padding to even out the slats that run front-to-back on the bed floor. It also insulates a bit more. I am glad I opted for the full bedrug, because I find myself sitting on the wheel well bump frequently, and it's nice to have the rug on it so it's softer, and so I don't slide off. It also makes the back more liveble in terms of aesthetics and feng shui, it just feels a little nicer seeing the textxure and feeling the smoothness of carpet on the sides, especially when I have to spend a couple of days hiding in the bed from bad weather / mosquito death.

Also, my dog is old and kinda bony and really likes the bedrug.

Absolutely love my bed rug. After 3 years of heavy usage, still looks new.

    Working on it
Love the rug, also have bullet liner sprat in , and unzipped sides and just use the bed part, very easy on the knees, and tubs go in and out easily, also don't need it over fenderwells and up the sides.
