im thinking of switching up but don’t have the money to keep one and buy the other. I don’t need benefits of either.....I’ve had both.

I’m looking for everyone that has one, but wishes they had the other

Love my camper, only had it out once...just got it a few months ago.
My camper shell, love it ! Can go off road and my bed is right there!

Of course! For every “corn flake” I scrape off adds $2 to the cost. You might wanna buy “as is”

It’s a sturdy shell but I can’t get past the black rhino lining. I saw one a few weeks ago on white and didn’t like it. I’ve been pricing the z series

As you know I have the topper which I really like. RTT would be nifty, but not into overlanding. I like to set up tent base camp and be mobile. Especially during hunting season for example.

I’ve had an ARE Overland for over a year now. We’ve camped in it probably 15+ nights. If you like to get buck wild with your wheelin, it might hold you back some. Dust will be an issue. I’ve applied some weather stripping that helps out. You’ll probably get some paint rubbed off around your bed. That sounds like a common downside with toppers. For me the pros outweigh the cons.

I tend to do some stupid stuff in the dirt.
Is it a lot of dust getting in? What is weight load on these things? website didnt state.

I wouldn’t say a ton of dust since I put weather stripping everywhere around the tailgate. When I had just a tonneau cover, that let in a lot of dust. My gf has never complained about dust. It will all depend on how long your trip is and they type of terrain you’re driving on. Maybe someone with more experience than me could do a better job at sealing up the TG. Are you talking about weight they can carry on the rack, or how much the topper weighs? I would guess it weighs 200-250 lbs. I can get inside and lift it myself with my head/shoulders if I need to reposition it or if I wanted to take it off.

To be honest I’m not sure. I don’t think there’d be any issue throwing a couple kayaks or a canoe up there, or a single full size spare.

Yeah, pretty much everything I do and like is dope :benchpress:

I didn’t have much dust get into mine except through the bed blanks that the 2016 Taco had.

I weather stripped mine too with inch wide stripping. My tonneau gets more dust that my topper did

Think LEER or Snugtop makes an overly supported topper if you’re willing to pay for it. Here in the mountains I see a TON of RTTs on toppers, but I wouldn’t want to join the SGU with that setup

Either or is really fine with me..
I don't think I would feel comfortable with the tent on top and the way I drive..
I've been keeping an eye on craigs.. Looking for a steal.
