    Anyone here running beadlocks?

i’m exploring the possibility of 17” beadlock wheels.

I’ve heard they can be hard to balance? (I know they’re made to be off road not on road)

Really looking for real world advice/opinions from other Tundra guys who run beadlocks and drive primarily on the pavement and only off road some times. Is it a practical purchase?

I also understand most beadlocks are not DOT legal, so how’s the likelihood of being fined/ticketed for being found with them on the road? (i’m imagining it’s low)

Can anyone suggest some solid 5x150 tundra bead lock wheels around $500 per wheel?

yeah I was decided on Method’s 703s that have the beadgrip tech. Seen a guy running 8psi on his 4runner with no probs. It would just be really cool to be able to run 0-1psi for max traction.

Really looking for real world advice/opinions from other Tundra guys who run beadlocks and drive primarily on the pavement and only off road some times. Is it practical?

I doubt its a light truck off road application, but interestingly, our heavy equipment tractor/loader operators run with water inside the tires on sand. I think around 10/15%. Not sure what that does and its for slow moving and all wheels on the ground stuff as far as I know.

You probably won't see many real world opinions, as bead lock and pavement don't go together.

Why would you need them to deflate to under 5psi if you are just driving around town?

Good reply, I should have read OP post more thoroughly. Stick to the 7 series methods...

Def don’t need beadlocks unless you’re going down to some pretty low PSI numbers. In your case, it sounds like beadlocks are unnecessary and probably would be a nuisance as you’ll need to retorque the bolts to the rings periodically.

FWIW, I have the RR7s from RRW and added the true beadlock rings. These are a 17” wheel as well. I had no issues balancing these on 37” geolanders. Cost was about $450 each with the rings.

Here’s a photo. Apologies, this was the only one I had of the wheel itself. Taken after I installed some rock lights. 06B10BCA-1E20-470B-9F11-4D4A1C9F25B2.jpg
