I don't work here or own the joint. I just want to pass on a little info on a joint in N.Y., Oneonta N.Y. to be exact. I have some family from here and this place serves the best bbq chicken I've ever had. It's called Brooks bbq. They sell their rubs and sauces online. I buy cases per year of this stuff as gifts (yes I give this as gifts over my own maple syrup)
You could make your own sauce that similar recipes can be found online and it's called Cornell chicken.
Check out the site and get the "grillin" chicken rub and the DIPPING sauce, not the marinade. I use chicken halves or dark meat, rarely breasts. I smoke the chicken in a pan of the sauce for about an hour (because I only have a gas grill, charcoal is way better and you can skip the smoking) then I basically over season with the rub, grill hot to crisp the skin, basting with the sauce as I grill. Then just as it says, dip each piece in the sauce before serving. This is kind of a salt and vinegar sauce and it's really amazing, not sweet or ketchupy. I'd say at least a dozen 1st timers say it's the best chicken they'd ever had, even non bbq lovers.

I may have to give it a try.

I'm just a simple La boy, this is my go to for almost everything. My wife thinks it's a little salty, but I like it
