Only 5 trucks were able to attend and 4 of 'em decided to stay and camp. Not a fan of the cold weather, I came home last night. We saw temps as low as 19* yesterday and for my beach bum arse, that's cold. We'd planned to run the Barney Riley trail which is pretty easy with only 1 or 2 interesting rock sections that you do both up and down since it's not a loop trail.
With snow in the forecast, caltrans closed the roads, prematurely IMO. With only about 5 min left to the trail after a 4 hour drive we were unceremoniously denied.
@Cruzer suggested the Strawberry Creek trail that's nearby and a bit closer to the Kirkwood Ski Resort. So, @TG705, @Cruzer, @GodlessPro, @SC_TRD and I went to check it out. On the trail we encountered a group of jeepers, about 20 or 'em, making some "repairs" to the trail. I still don't quite understand their plan wherein they split into 2 groups and started out at opposite ends of the loop trail. Their plan caused quite a bottleneck on the narrow trail and some long delays. But everyone, mostly, was happy and patient and everything worked out.
    I'm sure there'll be more and better pics coming.IMG_0475.jpg IMG_0478.jpg IMG_0481.jpg IMG_0487.jpg IMG_0488.jpg IMG_0490.jpg IMG_0496.jpg IMG_0500.jpg strawberry stuffing.jpg

Picture does not do justice to the Boulder we had to move out of the way thanks @Cruzer for jumping into the ring with this Boulder like Indiana Jones!

I have a better solution.. just throw more money at the truck and stick with the spotters I got and trust! 37s and locker coming in the next two weeks, wish I had them for this trail though, would have made a hell of a difference.

That BA truck belongs to @GodlessPro. SDHQ glass. The flare is just a painted detail.

Guilty. It's bedliner that was applied to the arches of the fiberglass fenders and bedsides.
