Narrowed down my search to the revolver x4. It should be available soon. Anyone have an X2? How do you like it? I'm more interested in what you don't like.

I have one. Fit and finish is nice, very easy to install. Not as water resistant at the tailgate as I'd like, but I imagine that could be said of most covers. When it's very cold, I have a hard time rolling it up tight enough to strap down. It usually takes a few tries to get it compact enough to work with the straps they give you. During the warm season, it's super easy. Over all, I have no regrets. I was looking at the diamondback cover as well, but for my use, the roll up makes more sense than having a cross bar in the middle of the bed that I would have to remove to fit big stuff in the bed.

Good info thanks. Bak has an x4 that is about to come out. As far as i can tell the only difference is it's matte black. Just looking for a sale now.

I have the x2 on my truck, I love it. My truck is my work truck so I'm am in and out of the bed all day long everyday and it is holding up well so far. Only downfall I could say is when it snowed here last week I was unable to roll the cover because it was iced over.

I’ve had mine for over a year. Ditto Jaywhy and Alloutdrs1 regarding the snow and ice affecting roll up, and not being as water tight at the tailgate. In spite of those two issues, I have no regrets. It’s a great cover and the security provided makes it a little harder for some opportunistic POS from pilfering the stuff that I keep in the bed.

Thanks. Did you guys install it on your own? Did you have to move the factory track system down?

I installed my self its really straight forward and easy, if you have the factory rails it does move them down with supplied brackets.

I installed myself as well. Took about an hour and a half, while minding two small children running around and trying to "help". It comes with everything you need to lower the track, asong as you order the correct one.

I have one as well and I love it. It looks great and works well. It keeps everything pretty dry, some water leaks in at the tailgate but you could find a way to seal it up pretty easily. Install wasn't bad. Moved rails down and got it done in an hour or 2. I have zero complaints. I wash it with regular car wash soap and put on some aerospace 303 to protect it every time i wash.

I have an undercover swing case on the driver's side. Thinking about buying another for the passenger side. They're a bit pricey, but convenient. I do miss the tie down hook that the case eliminated, and am working on a custom solution to replace it.

Check out the tool box made by Bak. It's $289 and fits under any of there covers. I think it's called a Bakbox.

Realistically, how much room are in those? I’ve kind of thought about getting them but A) I wanted to make sure they fit under a cover and B) they “look” small, but people claim to fit all sorts of crap in them.

I have a full tool box across the back and I’d like to keep similar storage capacity. I do like that those things take up effectively dead space though. My one concern would be durability Offroad and having it rip through the sheet metal. Any concerns?

I will look into it, thanks.

@the_midwesterner I'm not worried about durability. There's a number of decent size screws holding it in. Feels very solid. As far as space goes, they are small. If you don't mind stuffing it full, it might not be bad, but it's certainly not the same capacity as a real truck box. I *hate* having to move things out of the way to get to other things, so for me, I think they feel even smaller. I keep my ratchet straps and a small tool bag in the one I have, and to me, it's full.

I'm looking at this one too, but I'd rather not have to use a wheel chock when I have my dirt bike in the bed.

I installed mine about a week ago, like it. I’d give the quality a 9/10; one of the side gaskets wasn’t cut square, and there is some excess glue glopped on that I’ll have to remove. Paid $778, after the $50 rebate.

It took me so long to decide on which cover was best for me.
Mory @ Tonneau Factory gave me the best advice and price. I use mine with a Tracrac too so I specifically needed something just like the X2. If you need your question answered, he is the gentleman to call.

    1515210867102.jpg

I love my X2 ... It's never in my way, and I never have to take it off. It is stiff in the cold but it STILL WORKS!!! I did the install, easy as pie.

    Yes.

You have to drill the plastic and I used a small router to remove what I needed to install the compression blocks for the rails.

Thanks, I'm going to look into this. Would be very beneficial to me when I carry ladders instead of always lugging the trailer around.

The cheapest I have found so far is $929.58. That is for the Revolver X4 on a DC with a rail system. The X4 just came out the difference between the X2 and X4 is the X4 has a matte black finish and the locking tabs are stronger.
