Ok. First off, I have an addiction to my summer girl. So I need to share her here too... I’ve built this truck in 4 years in my garage. I have been enjoying driving it for the last year and a half. It’s definitely a build in progress, but I need to enjoy driving it for a while before ripping it apart again. Here’s the breakdown:

1978 Chevy C10 Custom Deluxe Stepside sittin on the frame rails.

    F3312805-F5EB-482B-92DA-6849AACE5CC2.jpg
Originally, this was a 350ci truck. I’ve swapped a 2002 junkyard 5.3L LS iron block paired with a 4l60e trans. The motor has intake, shorty headers and dual 3” exhaust with 6” bullet muffs into turnouts. As motor is still fuel injected, the computer has been reprogrammed for 91 octane fuel and has the torque management deleted. Also, the rpm redline was increased to 6500k. The truck is pretty snappy for an all stock junkyard motor.

In the front of the chassis, I pancaked the front crossmember an 1 3/8” for the static drop. I modded the lower control arms with bag cups. Then, I installed 3” drop spindles and stuffed the 7” airbags into place. For the rear, I cut in 12” axle notches into the frame. The axle actuates on a triangulated 4 link and the bag over axle provides the cushion. Two Viair 440 compressors fill the air tanks. I used stainless steel tubing for all the air lines running to and from all 8 solenoids.

For the interior I have a simple 90s Chevy Silverado 60/40 with cup holders cut into the center seat. More to come in this department.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the art of it if anything. She ain’t pretty but it fun to play with and learn on. Keep on truckin’

Edit: Love all the custom cab work, the shaved driprails, cowl, wiper delete. Sweet. Did they fill the seam at back of the roof?

Any future plans? I like the mismatched body, but nice paint is always killer on a c10.

Sick! I love it! Looks fun to drive and play around with.

I had a 78 C 10 stepside just like that as a work truck. My boss had it all cherried out, swapped the bed for service bed. I loved that truck. Just stock 350. It used to be a straight six. One of my favorite body styles. If I find some pics I’ll post them up.

Haha thanks guys. It’s fun to play with yep. @GravityGear No bumper drag. Plate drags for sure. The frame rails drag hard af when I’m aired out haha. Ground off a bit of frame for sure. I need to get back under it and do some more work on it.

Haha I do like how it looks currently. Like I said one day maybe I’ll paint it to learn how to paint? But I’m torn because once I do that this is gone! Haha. And yes I’ll give free rides for sure! That’s half the fun of it

I say do a photina. Does look cool the way it is but it would be cool to make it look like an old worn out shop truck. You can just roll that stuff on and then scuff it off to make it look worn. There’s so many different ways you can do it you can’t screw up. And if you do, start over LOL.
