Do you mean the tailgate power lock? If so, plenty have, including myself. It's an easy install. I used the OEM one.

I went with the Pop & Lock solution but it's essentially identical - very easy install, biggest pain is just crawling around under the truck to run the wiring up and ziptying it to the truck harness.

Pushing a button to open the tailgate sounds like something Ford would do.

Only if it happens when you're driving down the road in excess of 65mph with anything in the bed!

Installed the oem one today. Very straight forward. Worst part for me was getting the panel back on for the passenger side hookups

Hey guys! New to the forum and here is my first post so hope I did it right. Last weekend I was installing the oem power tail gate lock on my 2021 Tundra SR5 TSS package. After watching a YouTube video (because mine did not include instructions) I got the actuator installed. When I went to pull the floor grommet there was already a wire in the grommet coming from somewhere else.

What the hell is that going to and any tips on moving forward?

Do you have auto running boards at all because I do and I also have a wire somewhere in there

Maybe a constant 12v source is what I think but it didn't prevent me from putting in the oem tail gate lock

Bed lights will typically be wired through there as well. Can you just follow the wire?

After combing through the forums I believe it is the oem bed lights that came with the truck. The wire loom is attached to the grommet in the floor just like the one that comes with the power tailgate lock.

Option A: Should I just cut the one out of the floor, cut a side slit out of the new grommet, install the new grommet around bed lights loom, and "pookie" around it with some RTV silicone? I really don't want to fish the bed lights through the new grommet. Would it hold and be water tight?

Option B: Or should I leave existing grommet in the floor, poke a hole in it and fish tailgate loom through it, try to get it in the best "4 o'clock" position possible, then "pookie" around the hole in the old grommet.

Your thoughts? And pookie is a Texas term I believe.
