Hey that's the beauty of side by sides and cages, it rolls over, roll it back and call it good and keep going. It's a toy, not your daily driver, it's meant to take a beating. A few weeks after getting our X3 I was driving down a V-groove in a hill and one side slipped in the gravel and it fell on the door and I had to drive like 100ft on it's side ripping all the graphics off the drivers door before it fell back to four wheels. Oh well, nothing broke, keeping having fun :D

Yup. The bonus here was it was the last thing of the trip anyway. We were heading back to the trucks after that little drag race, so it didn't impact much. I am hoping I can get that quarter turn latch on it's own. It'll suck if I have to buy a new fender for that little thing. Still, if it's too expensive I do have insurance. :notsure:

Where have you found to be the best place to buy OEM parts? Honda, in particular.

Man I wanna get a utv, but they're so danged expensive.

Kinda thinking of getting a geo tracker or something to fart around with since you can't drive utvs on the road and there are limited places to ride them around here. And then I can sell my second car and use the geo for backup instead. :monocle:

I'm envious of you guys out west that have lots of cool places to ride. One day before I'm dead I will travel to utah again, but with 4 wheel drive. :D

I finally got around to my 07 Arctic Cat 500 4x4 auto home to overhaul the carb, dropped the tank, changed the coolant, oil and front and rear diffs.
Now I'm thinking replacing the drive belt, whats a good one I should look at.

Hey all I’m looking to buy honda foreman atv to do some snow plowing this year. It has 3200 miles and 870 hours and price $4400. Do think it’s a good price?

Something is wrong with that miles to hours ratio. 870._ hours?

Without knowing your local market well, I’m of the opinion that $4400 USD is pretty steep. The rear tires especially appear to be well worn.

It’s a typo, don’t think I remember exactly the hours, but I think it’s a bit expensive. She told me she got it from the an auction.

Finally replaced my 1/4 turn latch that I broke on my rear fender. Pain in the ass, but I can put the fender back on.

    Two fold post here:

First, I forgot to mention that the little 1/4 turn latch was only $15 so tipping over wasn't really expensive.

Second, has anyone had any time with a Polaris Ace? I still like the idea (and price) of a single seater, but thinking about all the trails I don't get to run because of width restrictions has me considering a downsizing. The utility the Ace has over the RS1 is appealing too.

Blind turn on a trail, head on with a Polaris RZR 1000. Actually this is the 2nd frame replacement. First one was a nose dive into a sand dune (my son driving). Good thing is we have full coverage so we paid $500, insurance paid 15k (each time).C1010000-947F-4B66-84A1-8A14714667FF.jpgECA2C573-BAE2-48BB-B712-E4AE795C6428.jpg 80CBF52A-B838-4478-AD1A-F60860347B29.jpg

Broke the plow on mine at work. To be fair it's about 20 years old from a JD 6x4. The ears on the frame just happened to be the same width as the Polaris frame so it got reused.

Bad pic but the frame is laying on the ground and the cutting edge is about 4 inches up.
    PXL_20210224_164954886.jpg

And the carnage once I got everything separated.
    PXL_20210225_161750793.jpg

Can't see it from this angle but the other tube is cracked nearly in half. It's now at a local fab shop getting straightened and reinforced.

Well, there has been a development on this front. I was strongly looking at selling/trading my RS1, because it is too wide for lots of trails. It's a blast to drive, super fast, jumps beautifully, but it has NO utility. It is only good for speeding around. No storage space, no weight capacity for a cooler or anything of the like, and it's wide stance has kept me from being able to run the 50" trails. I love it, but it is extremely limited.

I researched, called, emailed, blah blah blah, and the short story is that the trade in is way too low to be worthwhile. Selling privately will get more dollars, but it takes time. I'm impatient, and I wanted to get out and ride in the decent weather last weekend, so a few weeks ago I brought one of these home. (My only pics are on my phone, and it's dead right now) So now I have the fast and fun one, and the more capable trail model. Giving it through this riding season to see if the Quadzilla stays, or if I only need the new Trailzilla.

It's a 50" 2021 RZR 900 Trail Ultimate. Love everything about it except that it has the stupid speakers. Just an accessory that I think is wasted on these machines, but there was no option to get the ride command and better shocks without the speakers. It also came with the mirrors, turn signals, horn, and license plate bracket, so during the summer I think I'll use this as a commuter.

Initially I was afraid that the drop from 110 HP in the RS1 to the 75 HP in this unit would feel slow. It doesn't. It rides a bit rougher because of the shorter A-arms, but that was a known factor going into it. Part of why I wanted to get the best shocks I could. Super fun, and surprisingly roomy for being so narrow. Only a couple days riding it at the Poison Spider OHV area in Casper, but this thing is fantastic! It'll never jump like the RS1, and it doesn't tuck it's ass to the ground when you get on the throttle, but it is more than capable of getting out of it's own way. Had some snow, ice, mud, loose dirt, rocks, and roots in the two days riding with no complaints.

Plans so far (no particular order):
    • Plate it.
    • 6 point retractable harness for the driver side. Won't lose the ability to move like the 4 point harnesses, and only need the driver side. Won't be driving crazy if there is a passenger.
    • Need to get DOT tires and get them the same size on all 4 corners to make rotations and spare easier. Not sure if I want to get new wheels as well. May have to if I want to keep the tires the same all the way around. Looking hard at the Tusk Terrabite tires. Very affordable, DOT rated, and good reviews.
    • Rear spare tire carrier and a wheel. Self explanatory.
    • Cooler/box for the bed. Polaris has some solid options that fit well.
    • Sliders for the sides. The lower plastics have some edges that need some protection.
    • Possibly put a front bumper on. If I do then a winch might follow.

    Trying not to mod it
Thank you. I'm liking the machine so far. Now I just need to convince the people I ride with to get Ride Command.... the GPS and group functions are the main reason I wanted that system.

The Terrabites seem to be a really popular tire because of the price and DOT rating. I try to avoid any serious mud or sand. Those and deeper snow are the only things I've heard the terrabite doesn't like. I don't plan to do major rock crawling either, so an AT tire looks to be my best bet. The snow might be an issue, but I don't know that I will ride a bunch when there is a foot and a half of snow on the ground anyway.

How long have you had the Terrabites, and what kind of driving have you put them through? I know that there isn't a perfect tire, but honest opinions are hard to find on things. So many people are afraid to say they made a bad purchase, so they gloss over the bad to make it seem like they made the perfect buy.

    Edited for clarity

They see a lot of street miles as we use it to cruise town here in Idaho. But they have done well so far in the high desert terrain we have. We are going on a ride tomorrow. There may be some snow still so I can let you know how they do. If the snow is gone, then it will be just mud/rocks etc.
