Hey everyone. Trying to create my build and it’s my first time doing this on this forum so bear with me. I have learned valuable information from this site and thought it was only right to try and potentially help some others out.

I bought my 21’ tundra cm trd sport end of July. Stickered 51k, tacked on 5k because they could. 4wd, pred steps and dual exhaust came with the truck. Here’s a pic of her when I got home from the dealership

    upload_2021-9-30_9-27-39.jpg

I had a few goals with the truck. Get it level, bigger tires and I did not want to break the bank or go with an excessive, expensive lift because I don’t do much off-roading. The most severe conditions this truck will see is 4wd in mountain conditions since I go snowboarding often.

here she is after lift/ tires/ wheels :

    upload_2021-9-30_9-32-0.jpg

    upload_2021-9-30_9-32-22.jpg

    I replaced all shocks.
Front : bilstein 5100 set at lowest setting
    Rear: bilstein 5160

added icon AAL to rear for my rear lift.
Added WESTCOTT DESIGNS pre collar lift to front. This is a great option. It goes below the 5100 and overall, with bilstein set to .87”, gave me about 3” of lift in front. Westcott advertised this lift as being able to clear 35’s with no BMC and they were correct. Had some trimming(removed flaps etc ) but that was it. No rubbing whatsoever. And the Westcott lift is only around 300$

    added methods 701 and bfgs 35 12.5 18

I will be adding more pics to this thread but just wanted to get it posted in case anyone was in the same boat as me 6 months ago.

Looks nice! You may want to look at some adjustable UCAs, hard to tell in the pics but that angle looks pretty steep. They are generally required at 3 inch lift, many run adjustable UCAs with 2.5 lift. Nice truck, you got one of the last V8 Tundras.

it will be just fine for how I plan on using the truck. You should check out Jeff Westcotts videos on how this lift works. Shouldn’t really affect the down travel.

You’re not understanding “down travel” and that video says nothing about it. However, i do understand that it will be ok the way some folks use their own vehicle.

See how close the inside of your upper control arm is to the coil spring? At the current lift height you are at near maximum down travel, (aka maximum lift). The result is the lack of available “down travel” within the overall (up/down) motion of suspension movement.

    Still, bad ass looking truck….

    Too many, but not enough....
Did you use a differential drop kit? CV axle looks a little strange to me....

No doubt, always loved the army green too. I am curious about the diff drop because some people say you dont need it, but looking at that angle, i could see why so many ppl put it on.

Did not use diff drop. Spoke with the guys at Westcott designs and they said it wasn’t necessary

just bought this exact truck and looking and the same wheel / tire setup. I was considering going to 37s, but not sure if it would need to be re-geared at that point. ANY idea if that is the case? Beautiful truck

All the research I did on this I got mixed reviews. If you will be towing something heavy you may want to. If not, probably don’t need to. Some people said they re geared even with 35s. I have experienced no issues with loss or lack of power or searching for gears

The prevailing theory here is that you’ll want to regear at 37s. You could run suboptimally with the stock gearing, but no one is sure how long that will last.

Look up Dirty Seven Club on the forum, some people talk about 37s with stock gears, and I've some other folks too on social running stock gears with 37s and they wheel the sh*t out of it too.

I'm wondering if there's a concern with having 37s and stock gears on a 19-21 model since they removed the aux transmission cooler not sure if that plays a factor in overheating since it'll be searching for gears and such

@Hbarmygreen I'm looking into Westscott collars and 5100's and was wondering if your front driver side is on the lowest or middle setting?
