AT THIS TIME ALL ITEMS ARE DISCONTINUED. SINCE PRICES SEEM UNFAIR AND A PERFECT OEM QUALITY PIECE IS EXPECTED I ADVISE PURCHASING THE OEM UNIT. ALSO I AM NO LONGER OFFERING REFUNDS. PHOTOS OF ITEMS BEING RECEIVED ARE POSTED ON THIS THREAD AND THAT IS WHAT YOU RECEIVED.

    Discontinued: 2017 Brackets:

    • Due to marketplace competition it is no longer financially reasonable to continue the production and design of 2017 brackets.
    • 2019 shields R and D was really expensive to produce these and there is a lot of time that goes into each one. Please be considerate of comments as these were made to help the community.
    • If installing these. Recommended to use a bit of loctite on backside of bolts and tighten the washer/nut side. Do not overtorque the hardware! As it is not required you are not installing lug nuts here. The bolt heads are set into the piece snug. Remove the top and bottom washers and nuts before placing into place. The middle set stays in place.
-Figured I would take the time to explain why the cost of these are what they are. All costs came out of pocket just so I could design this for everyone.
    1. Version 1.0 I made a mold of the current grille and the pieces had to be cut down to fit into the opening and then sanded and reshaped to form. The resin I used was an expoy polymer which there are several compounds of but I found one that functioned the best with the radar, I thought it would hold up to higher temps but it did not.
-So version 2.0 was created. The current mold I had would not work so I had to make a good part that would be moldable/castable. I found a company that did custom designing and molding for a price... well I couldnt give up I was already in to far to not make this work. So after paying the design company $1500 for graphic design and another $1000 for tooling costs and $500 for material they made me a part that could then be molded. Now to the fun part.
    - I had to find a stronger resin that would hold up to extreme heat but still allow the radar to function 100%. After several compounds I found one that would allow this to work effeciently (done by going to my local toyota service department and having them test the radar function and finally presto we have a winner) the bad part the piece could only be so deep/thick.
    - The hardware was taking to long to color match as the silver stainless steel I had to powder coat the heads of the bolts black. So I found a company that black anodized stainless steel hardware but only sold in the quanitites of #1000. So yes I had to purchase #1000 of three different bolt lengths, washers and nuts. NOT CHEAP!
-The polycarbonate and vinyl tint is self explanatory its not cheap either.
-But now lets talk about the amount of time I spent working on this. For starters im a fulltime Lineman I work approx 50-60hrs a week, the other time was in the shop working on these shields and brackets. What time was left I squeezed in time for my family.
    - So for anyone the say I am greedy or do not care is a curse word in itself.

2017 and 2019 have been redesigned.

2017 bracket tilt adjustment varied on suspension lift and radar spacing update.

2019 shield spacing update, impact shield update, matching homeycomb update

I still need to order one of these once the hurricane passes and life returns to normal. Just to confirm, it’s adjustable as I’m currently sitting stock but have a 6” lift en route.

Stay safe brother. Yes it is adjustable. Once the lift is on you can adjust the height and tilt of the bracket.

Since we are supposed to discuss this here, and someone elected to insult me for being honest.

Why does your shield not have a smooth face, and why does it have 6 screws through the shield/garnish/whatever. No metal in the radar path is how it works.

Have you had your truck recalibrated to see if your products work?

Why do you have a new version weekly? You are not confused enough to think selling someone something is testing? The public cannot be your test bed.

I have not deleted any posts. You delete any post that isn’t your way? What are you hiding?

All aside, you are trying to make a product that is not realistic, cannot carry product liability, and quite frankly sucks. Why would you want to modify an active safety system that can save lives. At this point for me it is greed on your part. I’ve politely explained it all, and you’ve read it, so GOOD LUCK!

    Let’s discuss.

This is where I asked this debate to take place. Please use caution when replying and have a healthy debate on why this product works/or doesn't work properly. Insults/name calling will not be tolerated. Use your wisdom, testing, schematics, calibration procedures to prove a point.

First and foremost im replying to this for the community not for you to continue your non-sense babblying. And im only replying to this once. If that is not satisfactory for the mods they can delete my account as all of this has been for the community not for GREED I assure you I put more of my own out of pocket money into this.
    -My honest opinion of you
EDITED BY COLORADOTJ. See above post.

-I think you took photos of a 2019 trd grille at a dealership and decided to argue with me.
Why would you spend $1500 on your 2019 setup and continue running your OEM grille setup?

    1. The reason I discontinued the 2017 brackets was because they take time to make and I cannot make them cheaper then a 3d printed part.

    2. The reason I decided to make the 2019 shield is because the oem unit is $350. I wanted to make something more affordable that still functioned and was aesthetically more appealing.

    3. The design changed on the 2019 shield honeycomb piece because the resin that I used didnt seem to hold up to extreme heat and would lose form. That is the only reason I changed the design.

    4. The new design had to be a thinner casted piece because the Millimeter laser radar system would not function properly. Because I had to change the resin used that would hold up to higher temps this resin will hold up to +300 deg F.

    5. I have taken my truck to the Toyota service department to have the radar system function tested with there diagnostic systems and it functions fine. The TSS system is a dynamic cruise control that is supposed to assist in the ease of your driving while on cruise control. If you are relying on a radar system to drive your vehicle without paying attention to your surroundings then that is your own stupidity. Toyota designed the unit to assist in driving not drive the vehicle for you.

    6. The shield material change to smoke tinted makrolon vs clear lexan because applying a tinted cover on the lexan is not as durable and is more time consuming. Also makrolon absorbs less frequency signals. There are guys that are using the 1st release without issue. I drive my vehicle everyday and use what I offer.

    7. I used lexan vs acrylic because acrylic cracks.

    8. The oem unit is not completely transparent the backing that faces the radar is opaque black. Its not transparent. Can you take a flashlight and completely see through the oem piece no you cannot.

    9. A honeycomb piece that flows with the 2019 grille looks better then a vinyl decal on the face of it.

    10. I deleted the previous posted material because people like you was threatening legal matters and blah blah so I have a waiver that has to be signed now.

    11. Theres not one person on here that cannot say I have not been fair or honest with them. If they did not like the product I gave them a refund. If they had an issue I gave them a replacement. And everyone that got a 2019 shield I am slowly replacing every one of them because the resin has issues holding up to extreme heat.

    12. Now the tundra brothers in the community can have there say so in this discussion. As like I have said before I do not have to do this. I enjoy helping my brothers in the community out and that is the ONLY reason I am doing this.

Not a bad reply @ARES, except for my edit.

Glad to see the function test from the dealership and explanation of changed design.

Thank you for taking the time to explain your product.
