Anyone have an ARE Z Series with the OTR option? It’s basically a matte black finish instead of color matched. Wondering how this might look...thought it might look good since I’ve already got black wheels, badges and steps.

I have been bouncing around a similar idea since I got my truck. So tagged for pics and ideas.

I like the look of the black vinyl roof wrap. And maybe the black hood 'scallop'. Was thinking that might look cool and tie in a black cap with the truck. Been too chicken so far tho. Hah.

Yeah I like the look of the matte black. I’ve got a soft canvas tonneau cover that is matte black and it looks great, but I’d like to have more room in the back for camping trips, etc., but I don’t want to drop that kind of money without seeing what it looks like in real life.

I like it ok, but think you'd want to black out or color batch all your chrome first. Would look best on white, cement, quicksand, or inferno I think though.

I think it would look good on the quicksand with black accessories like you mentioned @Wrongside

Maybe check out the overland caps. They have some of the matte black and some color-matched parts.

I thought about the Z series with OTR, but eventually went with the Overland that as the bed liner accent. I think the OTR option would look good best on MGM, black, quicksand.

This is the one I would get. All my trucks have always had a cap. This is the one I’ve been looking into. I like the two-tone.

OP I think the all flat black might look unfinished on your color truck.

I have an inferno pro and have been going back and forth with it. I got used ARE Z to get it Line-X'ed. We'll see how it turns out. If I don't like it, I won't be out too much.

I think if you get a hard shell you gotta get it color-matched. SofToppers look good to me in black, but otherwise it just looks weird not color-matched.

Can't. Have a quicksand. A) would look stupid all that colour and B) they have massive issues colour matching. The canopies are $6k new up here in Canada so I'm going otr

That turned out great! Congrats, Em!

I’ve been waffling on cap color since I got my QS Pro, black or QS. Your pics decided it for me. Thanks.

Thanks! I had so many guys at canopy shops try to convince me not to go with the OTR but I personally like it. Make sure you post pics when you've got it on!

I did see one interesting canopy tho...I'll PM you the pic when I find it

I think the ARE Overland would be a good in-between if you don't want to go all black. It definitely would look good on a Quicksand!

Here's one on a Quicksand Taco (stole pic from Tacoma World).

I didn't like the overland! I saw one on a blue tundra in the states and I just couldn't picture it on my truck

Yeah, I probably wouldn't choose it either—just saying it's an option if he can't decide between color-matched or OTR.

Yessir. I’ve looked at those. Thinking I’ll go all or nothing as far as the Linex goes.

I like the look of Em’s truck a lot, and it’d probably look even cooler with roof racks, IMO.

I got the rails only installed for now - I didn't want anything up to for the time being as I'm working on converting my bed into a sleeping area

I have paddle boards that will need to go up there so I will have to install something up there soon
