    Hey all,
I have a 2016 with a 3" lift and 295/70/R18 tires. I find that I'm driving around in Tow/Haul mode all the time in order to stop the transmission from shifting up prematurely. While this workaround is adequate, I'd prefer to be able to change my default shift points to be a bit higher, as well as then increase the tow/haul mode shift points. Has anyone had any success modifying this via some tuning? Happy to take it to a shop, but I'd like to do a bit of homework first to see if the changes would actually be useful.

    Thanks!
    Todd

Don't have to have a tune done, up here everyone runs hikeit, plugs into your accelerater, modifies your shift points, similar to peddle commander.

First I'm hearing of HIKEit, I also just learned about iDrive. Where is "up here"? Just curious where this is being used.

Thanks! Definitely something I'm interested in (any of the throttle response adjusters). Haven't heard many complaints from folks who get them. They all essentially say it wakes the Tundra up.
Sorry for thread jack OP but maybe these might be what you are looking for?

Can the car re-learn by resetting the ECU (removing power?) and then driving more aggressively? I remember reading something about this.
How does it compare to other methods?

You can try if the vehicle has been really babied by a different driver, but wouldn't expect factory shifts to be altered too much. But doesn't cost anything try, lol

I've had both the ECU and the CCM flashed by the dealership after my tire size changes. It does improve my shift points for a month or so. I find with my driving of city most of the week, then into the mountains on the weekends, it ultimately "learns" granny driving and doesn't really give me a long-term solution.

You might want to look at the hikeit then, it simply plugs into your throttle and has a controller with multiple modes, it runs about $200, unless you can catch a sale.

Wouldn't the Hikeit just change the throttle response curve? I.E. it just simulates you smashing the gas pedal since it's intercepting the drive by wire signal in the pedal. I had the pedal commander and sent it back. I found it didn't really modify my shift points properly and caused the ride to be really jerky since it simulates pressing the gas pedal harder.

Essentially that's all they do remap throttle response and remove any lag, I don't actually use them, just every one I know that does insist the trucks shift better. If you weren't satisfied with pc, then I doubt any other would change that for you.

    Not nearly enough room here!
The last time I had shifting issues was back in 2010. When I took the time and made the effort to learn about my Tundra's Sequential Shifter, those times ended forever.
