Do you have any pics of mounted gauge in truck?

I know that this wasn't directed at me, but this is what I did. Image courtesy of URDUSA. As I mentioned earlier, I used the single gauge with two parameters monitored. I mounted that gauge on the left hand side as it interfered with fewer things in the factory cluster. It blocks the gear selector and the CEL, but a slight tip of the head brings them into view.

Thanks very cool. Did you use that Innovate dual boost/afr gauge in there?

Mines an 08, and I don't use the stock brake controller so I replaced the spot that went with the gauge and an adapter I made.

My inner plan of getting 250k out of this engine is constantly battling with the thought of a supercharger. Dammit.

If you take care of it you'll get 1,000,000 w/ no boost. There are S/C engines that are in the 200,000. If something breaks just fix it and keep making music.

What’s everyone’s consensus on spark plugs and oil weight for supercharging a truck with 60k miles?

I was going to switch to 5w30 since the engine will be making more heat(hp) but was unsure of new OEM plugs or going colder?

Also I’ll get the shop to weld on an O2 bung for the inevitable Stage 2 tuning.

I used new OEM standard iridium plugs when I installed stage 1 at the recommendation of Prospeed. For stage 2 Im using colder IKH24 plugs at the recommendation of DAP. As far as oil, living in an area that gets cold in the winter I plan to keep the 0w20. I still believe the most wear happens at cold startup, so the quicker that oil gets where it needs to go the better. In year round southern heat or something, I’d maybe consider other options. Im no oil expert though, so I’m curious what others think.

I run IKH22 as per Magnuson's recommendation. You're only making more horsepower when you're at higher throttle and in boost, the engine shouldn't be running hotter the majority of the time. The only time I notice my engine going over 203F is if I'm in boost for an extended period, and even then the hottest it'll climb to is 212ish. I don't think that's enough to warrant thicker oil, but I also don't think you'll hurt anything with thicker oil. I recommend running a O2 sensor regardless of what "stage" you're going to, you're modifying the engine and the air and fuel dynamics and that's one of the easiest and quickest ways to destroy the engine is the air fuel ratio being off, I think it's mandatory to have an external O2 sensor that you can monitor as easily as you can watch your normal gauges... but that's just me, I also installed my O2 sensor before I installed the blower just so I had a baseline before installing the blower :D

I live near Houston, so I use 5w30 with ZDDP additive, for spark, Prospeed recommended IKH22 plugs gapped at .022 on 85mm pulley and they've worked well for me over the past year

Check with your tuner before placement on the additional O2 bung, for my longtube headers Prospeed recommended a bung on an individual runner instead of at the collector or after...just a heads up

i just sent a sample on my Kirkland 0-20 oil. I'll let y'all know how it held up. it has the dyno pulls on it.

I run the cooler plugs- because I was told to by Alex Pietz. Don't know if they make a diff.

    I'm in hot ass Houston.

Idk how accurate this app is but you guys got me excited to try it. This was down the hill, 3800ft and 40F outside and a bit of an incline. Truck also had a weird fueling hiccup it felt like, so if 4.4s 0-60 is correct I'm amazed!

    Screenshot_20211211-200546.jpg

Excuse my Magnuson boosted self posting things :D but the truck just rolled 264k and I'm pretty stoked if that number is remotely true!

@snivilous - when you say you felt like it had a weird fueling hiccup, how much fuel was in the tank? In my experience, anything less than 1/2 tank you can experience surging at WOT on longer pulls. According to Viktor, it's due to fuel sloshing back in the tank on acceleration and the fuel pump basket being sucked dry by the pump.

I suspect it was that, I had a 1/2 tank and haven't had it happen before with that much fuel but I also don't often do a WOT pull for that long (especially at lower elevation where it pulls a lot harder than the house). Though when I've had it happen (usually a 1/4 tank or less) it was the same feeling.

    Added money to it.
Someone over at Harrop is really strong because I went to install my 80mm pulley today and I stripped one of those 5mm hex bolts trying to loosen it. So I'm trying to think of how I want to deal with that. But I did install the 650 injectors, and uploaded one of the tunes I got in my tune pack from VF tuner. Truck runs WAY better than just the stock stage 1. Also a pleasant surprise is my MPG's. with 34's and 5.29 gears, before the Harrop my average was 11.7mpg. With the stage 1 it dropped to 11.3 average. Now with the tune and 650cc's still 85mm pulley my average has been 17.8mpg. That's my normal driving habits around DFW.

I seem to remember a thread asking for over 200k mile supercharged tundras with nobody fussing up to having one.

For those of you going to stage 2. Are you changing the Fuel pressure regulator back out to the stock one? I’ve seen people suggest to leave the modified higher pressure regulator installed and tune it with that on stage 2…but I’ve also seen someone else with stage 2 say they went back to the stock regulator as per Harrop. Any thoughts on this? I was planning to leave the modified regulator in.

Here is what the installer used to have to do in the previously sent kits. They would send a jig that you would use to compress the regulator a little bit thus changing spring tension. Newer kits probably like yours and mine they sent the regulator already modified and you just change it. The regulator is mounted on the fuel rail next to the blower base, I forget if it’s the driver is passenger side rail. If it looks compressed you know it’s the modified one. If you still have the original one in your box of removed parts you can compare it, but if D3 never asked for it back when going stage 2 I’m guessing they didn’t swap it back out. I tried to tag Chris@Harrop but it wouldn’t work.

I think at sea level it's maybe in the 600 range. I also have 5.29s so have 25% more torque to the wheels.

You may've already mentioned and I obviously missed it, but who are you having doing your tuning?

I plan on driving it a little while untuned stage 1 (not for terribly long) in hopes to actually feel the difference of progression. I’d like to see HP come out with something in the near future. If not, DAP did my previous 2017 and I may have him do this one as well. I haven’t landed on anything firm quite yet, just kinda taking it one step at a time. When the SC was ordered, it was still before anyone cracked the 2019 ECU so it’s been a journey just to get it fitted so far.
