My first non-dyrt bike was a brand new 95 KLX 650.

It was best at urban assault... hopping over curbs to beat traffic and whatnot. It was underpowered and buzzy on the highway and too heavy too enjoy in the woods.

I put 18000 miles on it and traded it on a 2002 Road Star.

Had an XR400, sold it for a KLR650. Had a lot of close calls on the road that scared the begeezus out of me so I sold it. I’m now kicking around the idea of a Honda 250l for some Fire roads and fishing , which is probably more up my alley.

I have a KLR650 but I just use it to explore back country roads, so it has road tires on it. I have real dirt bikes (KX450F and KDX200) for off-road stuff and so consider this to be a road bike. I also HATE riding with idiots in cars around me, so it doesn't get much use. :notsure:

Started with a g650gs thumper then moved to an f800gs. Love that bike. Prolly 70-30 highway to dirt but trying to do more dirt. Did my first multi-day solo trip this summer and I'm hooked. Good idea for a thread!

I'm on a 1090R now, but I sure loved my 950. Wife was less than thrilled after I took her on the Kokopelli loop ... I guess riding pillion off-road isn't much fun - who knew!

My buddy put the lowering link on his. No performance mods. My poor bike has fallen over in the trailer a couple times and I crashed it good in Nevada once. Look at the pretty colors!DSC_0253.jpg

Broken collarbone healed up fine, I drink a lot of milk. The bitch of it was was this happened Friday evening after driving 6.5 hours in the RV to Sand Mountain Nevada to ride the quads. Huge waste of time and money.
I am always wrenching on my old jalopies so I leave the Tundras Hondas and Yamahas alone!DSC02581.jpg
