Anyone wish they would have bought a platinum or 1794 instead? Planning on checking out a pro in next few days. Live the looks. But lacks some features. Can’t believe no leather steering wheel. No blind spot. I don’t off road. But love the looks. Any regrets ?

    I don’t!

    The PRO gets you:
Suspension, wheels, badges/grilles/stamped bedsides, no chrome anywhere, hood scoop, and it should give better resell value (also exclusive color)

    The 1794 gets you:
Unique suede leather interior, ventilated seats, BSM, park sensors, turn signals in mirrors, chrome everywhere

If you’re talking about the 2019 PRO, well then you’re missing out on other options like heated seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, dual zone auto climate, JBL, etc

It’s really up to you if you want an out of the box built truck or if you wanna build it yourself while having more creature comforts

Had it for six months now and no regrets at all

Should I have waited for the 2020?
Nope. Got mine 10,000 cheaper and for very little more.

Dont care about leather steering wheel, push button start etc..
I have 2 years to pay the girl off and maybe Toyota will add a couple more buttons to it that may make me upgrade but I doubt it.

Most will say buy a cheaper model and upgrade but I would have only upgraded the tires and rims which the dealer did.
Add a cover and side steps which the dealer did as well.

I see a lot of people buy the pro grill, fog lights, shocks, rims, etc.

I wanted to buy a truck to enjoy it
If i wanted to buy one to work on and add parts to it I could have saved another $30,000

Yes. Going to take a look at 2019 pro. Coming from a 18 taco off road with premium and tech. Has push to start. Dual climate, heated seats. Blind spot and rear sensors.

I really like the PRO but every time I see one I look at how weak of stance it has.
I would probably go for a 20 PRO if I was in the market but the tires/wheels would be gone with a quickness.

I almost pulled the trigger on a 2017 Pro. What prevented me? I could buy a Platinum 4x4 with more dealer options( tonneau, dual exhaust, sway bar, air intake, running boards, bed liner) than a bone stock Pro back in February 2017.

Bought a brand new TRD Pro Suspension off TT.net for $1400+ shipping. PRO grill from EBay $289 installed those and boom

Platinum Pro for me. No regrets.

I agree the Pro will hold its value better than my Platinum or a similar 1794, if you want 4x4 off-road beast that holds its resale the best...
Go buy a Gen 1 raptor, have fun for a year and sell it for damn near what you paid.

PRO has a higher resale value. If I did it all over again, I’d go Pro and leave it alone. I don’t wheel Betsy and have no real desire to do so. It’s got some nice features (being a limited) but a Pro would have suited me just fine.

Doesn’t the Pro come with TRD duals too?

One thing I take into consideration is what you plan on doing with your truck. For me, I have owned 2 tacomas, 1 FJ, 2 tundras. I know that every single truck will be modified and I will remove the majority of the major factory parts (suspension, wheels, etc.). I would say factor that into what trim level you get on your Tundra. I ended up getting the SR5, CrewMax, 5.7L V8, 38 gallon tank, 4x4. Those were my requirements and started me off with a nice blank canvas for mods and upgrades. Good luck!

Just joined after buying a 2019 White TRD Pro. I traded a 2017 Nissan Titan Pro4X that had everything but the luxury package. Based on this I do agree that the Tundra is missing some features in both the comfort/convenience as well as the off-road capability categories.

With that said, I made my purchase accepting the loss of these features and knowing that the 2020 model adds a few of these features. It took some negotiating to get the local dealer to come down $4000+ off the MSRP and some dealers were still unwilling to budge off of the MSRP, so I figured my chances of getting this type of deal on a hot off the presses 2020 was slim to none.

After a few weeks an ~600 miles, I'm still happy with the purchase and am happy that to be getting the same MPG as the Titan with my mixed driving commute (~16.8 MPG hand calculated)! I've already added a Trexeudo Pro X15 bed cover and WeatherTech floormats. I'm looking forward to adding some smaller functional mods in the next few months to improve the rear lighting.

What is it lacking in off-road capabilities?
What like a locker? Crawl control? I found my truck in stock form to be very capable. I was quite surprised with the lack of locker.

In reality, the trd pro can’t do anything offroad that a normal 4wd tundra can’t do, with of course the exception of being able to drive faster due to the better shocks. Aside from that, its the exact same mechanical truck.

If you buy a limited you can put on some nice 2.5 inch shocks and have the exact same truck

And a little extra ground clearance. I capitalized on som pro takeoffs for cheap. Added a RCI front skid (better that TRD skid) and som shackles to get some rake back.

Having the same tires though doesnt change ground clearance under the rear axle or the a arms.

The 2 inches of suspension lift is easily achieved by aftermarket stuff.

The pro is great if it’s the interior and/or exterior paint color that you really want. But without getting any specific offroad goodies its not a different truck in the dirt for example

They fixed a few things in the 2020.. Leather wheel, dual climate control, heated seats, power passenger seat... The true problem is the faux leather seats are junk and completely uncomfortable.

Hold up, the leather seats in the TRD Pro are not real leather? I always thought it was similar in quality to the Limited.

I would buy a Pro if I have the money at the time. But after I spent the times and money to get my SR5 modded I love the outcomes.

Just bought a 2019 TRD PRO and was considering the the Platinum but wanted the look and stamp. Honestly I would buy the TRD PRO 100 out of 100 times.

The rear locker, hill decent control and the tires were what I noticed are missing. Obviously not huge deals to me since I'm more of a casual off-roader.

I'll be interested in seeing how the tiers perform this winter since I live in a rural area. With the Titan I had no problem getting from work to home in 2wd during some larger snow storms. The ride home includes a few hills with decent grades. Realistically, it's not going to be a huge deal if I have to rely on 4wd drive more. I'll just find the comparison interesting.

I don’t know which tires you have but I found the 18 inch Michelin all-terrain‘s worked surprisingly well and anything I threw at them. Even in the mountains I was typically in 2WD in the snow. Would just kick in 4hi occasionally if it was completely covered or was about to go through some icy areas.
