I have a 10 in Alpine Type R thinline sub and a 1200 W mono block amp left over from my old car. I am considering putting it in my truck. I'm not willing to give up my under seat storage, so where else could I put the sub? Who has used a similar set up and how was the install?

I had a pair of shallow mount 10" mounted behind the back seat. Did the mod so I could drop the seats. Now I changed them to the larger storage box behind the drivers seat and moved the stuff from under the seat to behind it. Lot more hidden and really a lot of room behind and under back seat.

Where’d you find a box for behind the seat for a DC?

My box is being custom made right now by NetAudio for my 12” sub for under the seat. I’ve never seen a box for the DC for behind the seat. Hmm

Built them ( two separate) myself. Used 1/2 MDF. Both boxes ended up being just under .75 Cubic feet each. Could have gone a bit taller to get a little bit more space but really wasn't a problem. just updated my build with some pictures. will try to get a couple here.

I met a car stereo dealer/installer at a car show back in September 2013. He specialized in Sundown Audio equipment and used his daily driver, a 2010 CrewMax Rock Warrior, as a rolling business card...

The sub in that truck had 3,500 watts and I'm pretty sure it was at least 12 inches!

My local audio shop quoted me at $700 if I supplied the amp. They claimed only two 10" subs would fit with a special box they had to order, I can post that when it comes in. They are gonna have to take the back seats out to mount it behind them. Currently waiting for box and subs to come in, and it is likely to take a while.... Thanks covid

What brand of subwoofer is this? They want $700 just to install the subwoofer? I have a little over $700 in my whole system, and my neighbor helped me install it for free!

Thinking anyone considering subs and or amps behind the rear seat should do the DC rear seat fold down mod to make for easier access after the install.

Back seats are removed in my tundra so the sky s the limit. One ten inch Cresendo sub is all I have now, but I have a feeling I will get another.

PennSilver, they suggested two nice Kicker comp subs and some box that costed about $200. $700 was total price of everything including labor besides the amp.

I put one under rear passenger seat. My hearing isn’t the greatest but I wanted a little more bump. I’m happy with the results

How did this turn out? Can you still fold up the back seats fully without a problem? I noticed when you fold up the seats the back rest of the seat moves backwards about 2”. I really wanna build two boxes like yours and do the back seat folding mod for easy access for any troubleshooting. Thanks man!

I've done something like that on my 02 extra cab install a piece of plywood and it is better to take our rc rock crawling in the truck and I'm looking into getting a subwoofer tube for my music
