MY son is driving my old Tundra and it acted like the battery was dead this morning, but later has fired right up several times. I was looking at it tonight when I got home and noticed the part below was just dangling between the front bumper and radiator below the drivers side headlight. Couldn't see anything that indicated where this might have come from...anyone know what this is? The other end of the wiring appears to go through the firewall near the upper right side of the driver side of the engine compartment.image1.jpg

That's the exterior temperature sensor. Should mount right behind the grill somewhere.

Yeah, it's in the rear view mirror if I remember correctly.

Must be a Limited thing? Do not have a temp sensor on my SR5.

Could be. I think my brothers limited had it. I know Mito makes an OEM style mirror and the temp sensor looks just like that one.

Definitely looks like an ambient air temp sensor. Weird if ya don’t have a temp display inside the cab though.

It's usually clipped onto a tab or into a slot on the core support somewhere between the edge of the radiator and the inside edge of the headlight.
    And welcome from WI

Sorry for the late response, been in elk camp since the 3rd and just got out of the woods today. It's not plug and play but only needs ignition power and ground.
