    Hello all,

Been looking at highlanders for a relative of mine. We are looking for a white 2021+ plat hybird awd with less than 10k miles but the ones we find, they are asking for the price of a 2023 one with the same spec...

I don't understand that level of greed. It makes no sense to pay for a used vehicle when we can configure a brand new one for the same price with same specs.

And for the brand new ones, we are being told ridiculous amounts of waiting time.
We are not sure what to do at this point.

The only insight I can add is that I owned a '21 platinum for about 6 months and that car was so damn nice. My favorite features had to have been all of the cameras on it and the HUD. If you can find what you're looking for, you'll love it.

As far as ridiculous prices, it's probably because of availability. Sure you could wait for a new one or buy that gently used one right now.

I also wouldn't shy away from carvana, depending on how their track record is in your state. I bought both of my vehicles from them and have had good experiences.

Take this one for example. $53k OTD and only 500 miles on it. This is what I paid for my new '21 about two years ago, so all things considered I really don't think it's that outrageous.

edit: maybe not that specific example, that one has a few scraps and dings.

At my local dealership, I’ve seen several sit for a few weeks then sell. They will try a markup but once you quickly inform them you’re a seasoned buyer they will stop with the facade. No real BS or greedy tactics.

I’m in Laredo Texas. If interested, I can PM the name of the salesman I’ve dealt with for a few vehicle purchases.
