I heard some mention that the TRD dual exhaust can reduce low end torque, or rather move the power up the rev band.

Has anyone installed this TRD dual exhaust who can tell me a before and after, if they felt the lost any low end grunt?

    Thank you

I lost power from install of the TRD dual. and it does really pick up in higher rpms. I am not impressed.

Damn, that's what I thought. I guess I will go with Keith's 6" catback, or get his TRD w/ the x-pipe and hemholtz. No loss of low end w/ that setup.

A lot of guys like their TRD exhaust. I think it would work best if you had long tube headers. And even then you would want to jump to 3 inch exhaust piping. I suggest keeping the stock single tail pipe and spending money on A dirtydeeds muffler setup. Instead of the duel inlet single outlet muffler, he uses 2 mufflers and joins the exhaust together after and it bolts right up to your single tail pipe over the axle. I felt no power loss. If anything it feels a little better all around. And it sounds great!

I think the X pipe is the key. But if I remember correctly you still need the TRD tail pipes unless he is now making them.

I got my TRD exhaust installed before delivery, so I have nothing to compare to. But man, if this isn’t what powers feels like, I don’t know what the hell else I could possibly need! Very happy with the power and sound.

A member on here had the trd duals on, and had a H pipe installed, he said he gained the torque back, but it made the trd exhaust quieter.

No discernable difference to me. I had the stock exhaust for about a month on my 2018 before switching to the trd dual. It just changed the sound for me. No noticeable difference. But I also came from a 2016 Tacoma originally which drove like crap.

Really the only reason I would want the TRD duals is for the looks. One of the best looking exhausts. If I went with Keith on the TRD the price would be close to $1400! That's a lot of money but I would get the better sound, no drone, and looks that I'd want.

No he took it to an exhaust shop. X pipes are for cars and fast driving and H is for like trucks.

Not true. Dirtydeeds offers quite a few different configurations with X pipes. Although the H pipe is easier to fit if you have mufflers because the space is too short to fit both.

Wow! I really like those dual sides exits!! Sort of like the Corsa one's, just not shiny. Is it possible to get those tips polished so it has a nicer look? I may just say screw it to the TRD thing, and go BA 6" w/ those dual tips, if they can be cleaned up and chromed.

I don’t think there is enough room. He offers them for the first GEN. For your situation something like this could be really cool. Stock muffler with electric cut outs! http://dirtydeedsindustries.com/product/07-toyota-tundra-electric-cutout-bolt-on-exhaust/
I seriously contemplated this one because it just sounds so fun. No I’m totally stock LOL flips switch! Eat that!!!

I have the TRD exhaust and love it. It is loud when you get on it and quiet when you want it to be, and no drone on highway at all.

I’m running TRD duals. I haven’t noticed any difference at all. I have little drone and it sounds great when I get on it.
I considered swapping to a dirty deeds because of all the fan fare but I would just be blowing money that I don’t need to.

I have the TRD duels. Had stock muffler for over a year. Was no power loss.
