Any so many 8" rather than 6"??

Call me crazy, but if these BA systems offer no drone, wouldn't you want the 6" to have more sound? Is it that the 6" is crazy loud or something?

By far most people get the 8" which many have said sounds just a bit louder that stock.

Keith also said in another thread the sound difference is small from 6" to 8"?

Does anyone have an 8", which they replaced because they didn't like the 6"; or vice-versa?

    Thanks!

My 8” is by far louder than stock. Lol. The 6” is a bit more raspy and high pitched where as the 8” is a bit deeper toned. No drone at all. That’s confirmed. But I can garuntee there is no question that it isn’t stock haha. Maybe if all you do is granny pedal. But who buys an exhaust and does that?!? Lol

Main difference between the 6” and the 8”, you can hear the 6” from stop light to stop light. Where the 8” is pretty much stock stop light to stop light.

They both become very aggressive on the throttle. And they both become nearly stock quiet on the highway.

Thanks guys. So the 6" is raspier? I need to listen to this exhaust in person I think. I would like louder w/ the 6", but nothing beats the deep bassy sound of say an 8".

Keith do you have more people switch from 6 to 8, or 8 to 6?

The 8 was too close to stock for me, so I switched to the 6. I didn't think the 6 was raspy, but it was slightly more aggressive. Then I straight piped my stock catback and switched back and forth with the 6. Then I installed ARH long tube headers and 3" dual catback.

    Hi Keith,

Do you have average performance numbers for each, such as dyno-at-the-wheel numbers both pre and post install? I realize performance numbers vary per truck depending on other variables, but am curious to know ballpark averages for each if you have the data available.

I didn’t notice a bit of down low power loss. But there is a seat of the pants improvement in the mid to higher rpms though. Once you get on it and get past 3000 rpms You can feel it’s revving, and albeit accelerating, more effortlessly.

You shouldn’t see any low end loss since it uses factory tailpipe and factory size mid pipes

IIRC, I believe Keith said 10rwhp and 10-15rw-torque? I might be wrong though.

I have the 6", can't compare it to the 8"...certainly not loud or offensive. Could be louder actually. I think that it is certainly louder than stock at highway cruising. Very subjective.

Either system will gain 3-10hp 10-20tq to the rear wheels over stock. With zero low end torque loss.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
    Get 8".
    Install.
    Crank up truck.
    Control woody.
    Turn off nannies.
Drive around using sequential gear shifting.
Continue to control woody. (Sheepish smile is okay)
Dodge incoming panties at stop lights.
    The end.

8” system is definitely not close to stock. It is quiet on the highway, which was what I wanted. Sounds like a beast when driving around the city. My wife can hear me a block away.

Wow! That's an incredible gain over stock for just a catback. So that would put a stock Tundra w/ your exhaust at about 395hp at the crank, and 420-425ft/lbs with just your mod!

Was debating on getting the TRD rep when I get my Tundra, but now I'm sold on the 6" w/ resonator in stainless steel w/ the chrome Toyota tip. :)

I debated the same situation, except when I went to buy my truck I didn't know about Dirty Deeds. I tried negotiating the TRD exhaust as an add-on hoping the dealer would give me a decent discount. With their discount, the TRD was going to be 1,400! That's crazy, so thankfully Dirty Deeds had a sale and I spent half of the TRD cost on a better system.

Air lift, black out emblems, wheels, tonneau cover, tires, led lighting, hidden step rail, remote start.
My wife says the same thing. I have a friend who has a Chevy with Flowmasters. She can hear him 5-6 blocks away. Told me stock tundra didn't sound tough. Ordered the 8 inch Dirty Deeds, no resonater. It drones a little 55-70 but goes silent after that. I was told my exhaust sounds boss, deep rumble.

What would be the best bet for a 2005 w/ 4.7 to match the 6 inch

Website was a bit confusing for gen1 trucks

We start at 12” with the first gen. Then go up to 24”. But definitely call to help dial in the perfect sound while gaining 3-10hp and 10-20tq to the rear wheels. 760-877-4234
