prob lose my card for admitting we have a sienna. we bought our first in 2006 awd limited. one daughter was four and we had a new born. really great vehicle for young kids. the 06 died in 2017 so we bought a 17 awd limited premium predawn mica. love the dbl sunroof, split screen rear dvd, pwr inverter, etc. etc.

i prefer it over my tundra for car camping since i can leave the middle row seats at home and stay in the van, even run it with a/c when it gets too hot. any other sienna's out there?

yeah, it's my wifes daily also and she's mod averse, never wants me to touch her cars with aftermarket stuff so it works out.

she loved her 06 and if they sold them new she would have wanted another over the 17. our 06 just started going downhill even though it was highly maintained. then it left them stranded at safeway (first time ever) a few days before i was going out of country. so i had to buy a new one before i left. the 06 had stronger a/c, more comfy third row seat where she likes to sleep and less quirks. the folks at kars4kids were happy to take the 06.

I bought pre-cut side window tint for the van when we picked it up and she won’t even let me install that haha. Anyone want free 35% side window tint for their 2007-2011? Pay shipping haha.

Our van is a bit of an anomaly. We bought it used for a heck of a price because it’s rebuild status from hitting a moose. The rebuilt status let us get limited options at a base model price. We wanted a used van so we could haul the kids/dogs around while they’re too young to not destroy things. I enjoy not getting stressed when the kids color on the headliner for example o_O. It left us stranded once in the middle of a long road trip when the fuel pump quit. Other than that and a few pesky sliding door cables it’s a good unit.

I was actually pretty determined to buy an AWD Sienna when I just snapped and decided I couldn't live with myself getting another Mini Van!
I had one I was making a deal for when my Unicorn Tundra popped up and I drove my Trade up to Chicago and did the deal.

I had 4 Previa All-Trac' in the past and those were the shit there!
They made terrific work trucks for what I do and I always hoped the Sienna could fill those overbuilt Japanese Shoes but I never really embraced the Sienna either like the Previa or the Tundra which I have also had several of so when I found a low mileage newer RCLB Tundra I knew it had to be a sign.

 It's all in the presentation Dan! You have to sell it as a safety issue. Bigger tires will allow better, safer movement in inclement weather and also resist punctures on rough roads thereby ensuring she and the tikes don't get stranded.

2004 Sienna here. With 4 children and seating for 8, it's been great. And you can't beat being able to stack sheets of plywood flat on the floor when you need to.

Spoke with my wife when we had our first child to possibly buy a Sienna for space. She told me that she's fine buying it and she will drive my car and I drive the van. We ended up with a 4Runner.

Former Sienna here as well. We had a 2009 and then went to a 2014 (AWD, leather, etc..) and to be honest, it was a great van. I have absolutely no complaints and I couldn't be prouder driving it around. We recently traded (last month) to a fully loaded Rav4. Wife is loving the Rav.

I just wish the siennas had the reversible middle row seats with the table in the middle like the town and country. My college roommate’s mom had one and it made for some fun road trip rides

speaking of resisting punctures, the awd models come with run flats and don't have a spare. the run flats aren't the best performance wise but it's a minivan so don't really need high perf, although my wife drives the van like a sports car so i usually go through sets sooner than i should. they aren't cheap BUT she has gotten a tpms light and was able to drive with the kids safely off highway and to a tire shop where i met her. happened to me also. run flats came through. i once drove ~50miles on one at ~55mph because we were in the middle of bfe and when i finally pulled up to the tire shop the tire was totally shredded...no wheel damage.

the awd drive model is also totally planted and solid in heavy rain and slippery roads. 100% confidence inspiring for a van.

We cross country ski at a local park. Our awd van plows snow over the hood before it gets stuck with the winter tires mounted. It’s unbelievable!

when the kids were really young, i remember coming out of the grocery store a number of times pushing the cart, one kid riding inside and another walking next. as i got close to the van i'd hit the buttons to auto open the two side doors and the back hatch. the other moms and dads be like wth, i need that. lol.

kids are older now 13 and 18 but they still prefer the van for family trips. everyone has a captains chair, their own screen and a bagillion cup holders. toyota also has a trim where the second row captains chairs have extendable foot rests. full on recliner.

Hahah I never going to ask her, lets be honest if I had $1000 and time to install a lift the time and funds sure wouldn’t be going to the van haha. Winch maybe. Wait how can I offer to lift her van and get a winch out the deal?-GO!

Totally agree with what is said here. I ran run-flats and could get about 45,000 miles out of them. The AWD Sienna is incredibly deceiving on winter roads. Its like there isn't ice/compacted snow on the road or at the stop light. Hands down best icy road vehicle I have ever owned.

Ours had the recliner seats in the second row. We wouldn't get out of the garage and the seats were tilted back and the leg rests out. I loved my little 4runner I had but I could put the 3rd row down and put 2 large dog kennels, all our suitcases, and the Christmas gifts in there for a drive to Grandpa and Grandma's.

I would take that Sienna over a Suburban every day of the week and Sunday's too.

I almost forgot in all of the Tundra building excitement just how I came to find my latest Truck in the first place, directly through the Sienna!
I started a job last year in Montana in a house in an exclusive Resort Club and when I arrived there in my rental 2wd ProMaster Van I realized right away that I was dead meat in the club without 4wd and could not actually get up the driveway to the house I was working on.

Everyone there drove 4wd trucks or Chevy Vans that evidently were factory built with AWD systems which I had not see before.......except for the housekeeping staff which all had, thats right AWD Siennas!
They were crammed with Housekeepers and a Driver in each one and none of them had any issues inside the club road system at all. I watched every day from the bottom of the 1/4 mile uphill drive at 10K feet altitude that I was about to climb manually as these Siennas flew up the snow and ice packed drive!
I got to know some of the drivers and they all reported that the Siennas were the only club vehicles that were reliable as all of the trucks were Domestic models and that they drove many of the Siennas for a few hundred thousand miles just a few miles at a time never leaving the club grounds.
The club has 52 miles of internal road too.

So I came back home pretty determined to find a nice AWD Sienna to add to my fleet but then I chickened out of a another Mini Van when I found the Tundra that I ended up buying instead.

My AWD Previas were all unstoppable in the Snow and terrific in rain and ice, except for that one time in Snowmass where the Bean became a Hockey Puck coming down into Aspen off of the heated roads of Snowmass but I digress!
But somehow my Minivan days were over I dreamed and the extra Tundra made the cut.
The Sienna is also a lot easier to work out of once the sting of constant hazing from the other trades subsides not that I really care too much anyway.

    So maybe down the road?

We have a 2013 Sienna XLE AWD in "Cypress Pearl", which really looks like bile. The DVD player has been a lifesaver. I had always owned Subaru's but the WRX and Outback just doesn't work with three carseats/boosters. We're now a Tundra and Sienna family.
