Any reason (other than cost) that I shouldn't buy a Platinum over Limited?

Closing in on replacing my totaled Limited and really looking hard at the Platinum. Because I already have things bought for it that I am reusing like tonneau cover, bed extender, husky mats, TRD knob, etc. it is a chance to go up a level.

Outside of price, is there any reason not to? I am not sure I like the 20" wheels over the 18", but either way the stock rubber is going to be replaced. The TRD piece I know isn't really hard core and I won't be off-roading other than a gravel lot to tow a trailer maybe, lol.

The lack or chrome and the interior are selling points for me.

Could happen as early as Thursday as I have a bead on a Platinum, but wondering if I am just crazy to want to spend a few grand more or not...

Go for it! I bought my 2016 Platinum vs other models mainly because it had the most of the options I had on a Silverado LTZ plus I love the leather seats and color matched exterior. I knew that the 20" wheels and tires were going away and that I was going to color match the mirrors and door handles. No other model would do for me. Ended up with the TRD Pro suspension and a host of other goodies (optional mods to make it mine), but I could have lived without many of them. And, after recently installing the '18 LED headlights and fogs and converting all other lamps to LED, you've got a great start on the one area of my Platinum that i never really liked; the '16 headlights were so yellow that I had to run high beams a lot (especially in my neighborhood where there are no street lights). I've had a lot of cars/trucks and knew I would not be satisfied with anything "less".

Go for the Platinum! Color matched alone would be worth it to me.

I have a limited, and I can say that if cost is no obstacle then get a platinum.

Go for it, there is good tires that fit the 20inch rims . otherwise you can always find someone to buy the rims and go with 17 or 18 rims and a beefier tire . Plus when you get rid if it there will be more resale value

    See fine print
If you like chrome stay limited. Also platinum doesn’t come w a gas tank skid.

Thanks all! I pulled the trigger on the Platinum. Or technically my wife did. I am traveling for work so she did the deal to get the super low interest rate lol. She now is responsible for my truck payment! I am responsible for her Sienna lease. I made out in that deal ;)

I like the limited wheels better than the platinum 20s... That's about all I could think of

Thanks! Betty White II just needs her spray liner, running boards and paint protection and she will be ready to go. Can’t wait to get home later this week and get her. Bye bye rental F-150!

Bingo! That's the reason I went for the Limited.

On a side note, my buddy actually paid less for his Platinum than I paid for my Limited. He got a damn good deal.
