Any magnetic gray metallic owners, is the color hard to keep clean?

Are these color trucks hard to keep clean? I live in AZ which is very dusty and I am OCD about keeping my vehicles clean. I am wondering of this truck is difficult and would drive me crazy. I previously had a root beer colored vehicle and it was worse than black to keep looking nice. I now have a white truck which is much easier so I might stick with that color in a Tundra, although I do like the blue ones.

    Lots.
It's definitely harder to keep clean than a white vehicle but shows dirt and dust far less than a black one.

I’ve had 2 magnetic gray Tacomas. They look great when clean. Parking outside was a challenge. They show water spots easily. I’m in a silver tundra now. Much easier. But the MGM is beautiful when clean.

the darker the color, the more visible the dust is especially in AZ. My Cement looks clean but if you examine the surface very close, you can see it's dusty. my truck gets dusty after a day here in vegas.

I had a MGM tacoma and currently have a silver sky metallic Tundra. The MGM definitely needs more attention than many other colors but definitely isn’t as difficult as black. I personally miss the MGM even though silver can look clean for well over a month.

I love my MGM. The only thing I will call out is handprints from the little terrorists I call children. Dust and dirt seem to even over, handprints from the monsters glaringly show.

MGM is one of my favorite colors. I owned a MGM 4Runner and Tacoma. But unfortunately like many have said it’s not easy to keep clean. I owned one black vehicle which is definitely worse but MGM is not that far behind. All cleaned it just looks drop dead gorgeous…

I just picked up my 21 MGM a few months ago. I thought it would hide dirt much better than it does. It's still better than my black 2002 tundra though.

I agree. I have had the black, cement, and now mgm. MGM is not as easy as the cement but much better than the black.

I thought it was just as hard to keep clean as black. Plus I got tired of that color.

I have been rolling MGM since 2007!

I actually traded in my 2007 MGM Camry for my 2018 MGM Tundra.

it looks really sharp when cleaned and waxed- almost black in certain light. It will keep looking quite clean for a week or so if you take the time to apply a polymer wax after washing, and if the weather cooperates.

In the summer, I can use quick detailer, glass cleaner, and a car duster to keep the truck looking detailed.

Winter in Oregon is different. Even waxed, after a week of driving on the rainy freeway, the truck takes on a matte grey appearance, with swooshes that show how the air moves across the body.

Silver seems to hide dirt the best. But I still really like the MGM.

Hola, yeah there are tons. It's a pretty "basic" color. Although lot of them think their color is unique and special . Ok ribbing aside, here ya go. https://www.tundras.com/threads/magnetic-gray-metallic-mgm-1g3-picture-thread.8675/

I live in the desert on a gravel road next to a hay field. I like MGM because it looks decent when dirty or dusty. It has to be pretty filthy to look bad unlike other darker colors. It only looks bad after it rains which is pretty rare here.

If you're concerned about dust from parking outside, I'd avoid MGM. I don't think it's particularly bad but I don't mind some dust on mine; if it's going to frustrate you go with silver or white. I'm not sure blue would be a good choice, either, in the dust.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I washed my MGM Tundra then unexpectedly drove to Yuma the next day...looked pretty bad afterward but to be fair I was on a dirt road for a bit

My Rav4 is Magnetic Gray-it's a dust magnet. I have multiple waterless washes I used to dust the car in between washes.

Scratches are very visible on the MGM vehicles or at least on the two I owned. I love the darker colors but here’s the problem: the more you clean the more scratches you get…. I am sure if I used better techniques I would have gotten better results but as a family man I need to use the most efficient/effective methods which unfortunately leads to “scratches” (long winded sentence right here ;)). Even my cement shows a lot of scratches however I would rather get bird bombs and other crap off the paint than worry about minor scratches.

    Playing devil’s advocate…

Even minimal exterior and interior care goes a long way when a vehicle ages. This is highly evident when looking at used cars. And if these prices for the new generation of Tundra are correct, many potential/current owners that won’t be able to afford one for many years. Myself included… Yes it’s a truck and if you are using it it will get dings, dents, and scratches. However I want the truck to look and function (most important) as best as it can in 7 to 10 years. Long game here….
