I'm pretty set on just doing a muffler swap and looking at Magnaflow's #12588. Any body else out there that just did a muffler swap and using Magnaflow? If so, which one did you get? I'm looking for a deep, mellow sound and the 5 x 11 x 22 I think will deliver.

So, you’ll need a y pipe also if you’re swapping ‘just a muffler’

That said, please feel free to give a call. I can hook you up with the same thing, same price, only hand built by my shop.

You’d be talking directly with me, the engineer. And I’m really good at dialing in the exact sound you’re looking for.

    Oh. Didn’t see that posted.

That said, you don’t want the muffler to be the transition. You want a smooth transition that combines the exhaust banks together either before the single muffler. Or after the dual mufflers.

When you combine the two banks of exhaust together in a large chamber you create chaos and exhaust doesn’t like chaos. It wants a smooth transition.

Big chamber forcing two banks together= low end torque loss. And upper rpm Hp loss.

Smooth transition=more low end torque and better top end Hp!!

What if the chamber is 2.5" throughout the muffler? On the stock setup, isn't the muffler where the transition happens as well?
