I imstalled the Rugged Ridge bug deflector on my 03 the installation was simple and it attached firmly with the grill screws plus some additional plastic retainers. I paid 69.00 for mine on ebay. I recommed it. I'll attach some pics.

Ok.... After spending several hours trying to get the grill back on and just getting frustrated as it grew darker, I gave up for the night. %$#@!!

In the morning I took the protector off and used a grinder to extend the areas around the screw placement for the grill. After taking about an inch off each area--i think it was 4 or 5 areas--on the protector, I was able to get the grill back on fairly easily. IT IS NOT possible to reattach the truck grill in any way without grinding down the stone protector. It took several times back to the grinder before it was just right. After reattaching grill and protector, you cannot see the areas where you grinded down. And it looks pretty good though I'm definitely thinking of giving Weathertech a piece of my mind.

I have had them in the past. It always seems to me that the bugs and stones hit everywhere else but the deflector once I installed it.

I like this matte finish. This one looks a bit bigger compared to Weathertech. Nice looks from both.

I like my AVS deflector. Owned several over the years.Does exactly what it's supposed to do. The deflector redirects air flow up and over the cab. Most bugs too. Not perfect but gets the job done.

Looks great! Let WeatherTech know. They 'd probably want to know to fix the issue! Hopefully.

Yes, I would certainly let WeatherTech know of the issues you had. I have several WeatherTech accessories and they normally fit well. Are you sure they sent you the right one?

Not sure they sent the right one but looked on Amazon reviews and someone had the same problem I'd had. I'm going to call them on Monday.

I just got done installing the Weathertech bug deflector and it went on fine. The issue I noticed after the install was that the plastic had warped a little and was not even across the top. You couldn't really tell this unless you were looking down on the hood from the driver's seat but the imbalance from the midpoint bothered me. Glad you got it sorted out though.

Talked to Weathertech and they said it's possible that the wrong one went out. So after confirming the part number I have to be the wrong one, they are sending out a new one today. Probably a good thing as the one I have one developed a crack from my initial attempts to cut it back with tin snips instead of grinding.. Anyhow, I should get it within a couple days.

Saw your complaint on Amazonsite. You should write back and put a positive response correction as its been made better. (If you already haven’t). Thinking about going with their bug shield for mine. Might paint it with bed protector though to give a matte finish.

I have an EGR bug deflector. No matter how hard I tried to center it, mine rubs just slightly on one side. I may take it off.

Does it come with rubber bumpers? If not, you can purchase these to put on the truck hood below the deflector to prevent scratches on the paint. Some brands come with these bumpers and others do not.

rubber bumpers? Its not below the deflector I'm talking about. Its where it wraps around the corner of the hood.

My deflector came with rubber bumpers that also go near the corner of the hood. If I'm misunderstanding you then I apologize. Here's a picture of mine near the corner of the hood. Your's may not be designed the same way so this might not apply. Hope this helps.
