Any fellow bow hunters? Sound off!

I've been a Mathews fan for that past 10 years or so. Currently shooting a Halon 6 after my old SoloCam finally got a little too worn for my liking (but I had it for 8 years and hunted pretty hard with it and shot often).

Good decision on the poundage, I tried crossbow one year and it wasn't for me either. Just doesn't feel the same as regular bow hunting. One of my first bow's was a PSE but never owned a BowTech.

I started on a Bear, got out of it for awhile, bought a Barnett XBow, used it once in 5 years. Was recently given a PSE from buddy who had surgery and hadnt used it in about 10 years. Used it last year, wasnt able to take any shots on game with it, but at least i have one now.

Been shooting a parker hunter mag for about 10-15 years. Very light and quiet. Would love to upgrade one day but it works well so....

PSE Momentum. Used to shoot 68#, but last season i could not smoothly pull 55. Too many years in the trees as an arborist. Looking at finally getting it fixed. Have to have a medical release to use a crossbow so I'd have to see the Doc either way.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
There's quite a few on here. Do a search for some of the other hunting threads.

To your question; I too am a long time Mathews guy too (14 yrs). Drenalin, Z7 Xtreme, Creed SX. My pops has had a Chill-R, Creed, No-Cam and Halon-6. I love the Halon series!

I was a gnats ass from buying the Triax last fall. I've been exploring a few build options with buddy's Triax…using Monster Wake limbs...

Those triax bows are pretty impressive. I shot a demo at the local shop...my Halon is only a year and a half old...but tempting!

I've never heard anything bad about a Hoyt! I've never actually shot one.

Mine has shot great, came over from Martin. Been real happy with it. See a lot of Hoyt, Elite and Matthews around my location.

I don't know if you have heard of Cameron Hanes, dude is a beast and shoots his Hoyt daily out to 80 yds...consistently. There are some YouTube vids of him shooting out to 120, accurately I might add! Little far, ok a LOT far, for me but it speaks volumes about Hoyt and his skill level.

I shot Hoyt for many years but I’ve been shooting Bowtech exclusively for probably 6-7 years now. Here’s my newest bow a BT Realm SR6 Kryptek Highlander tuned by Mike Carter aka “ Crackers “ Mike has tuned all my biws for the last twenty years. D263C201-4B56-4462-BC68-FEF7236FA596.jpg

I was a bowtech guy for years but I'm currently shooting an Elite E35. Love that bow! My bowtech is a backup now. :)

Mathews Halon 6 here. Shot Bowtech for many years and had limb problems on an Invasion and an Insanity. The Halon has been a solid bow.

I love bow hunting. I shoot a Matthew's Creed XS, Bee Stinger stabilize, QAD drop away rest, Tight Spot quiver. I always shot Muzzy fixed broad heads but last year went to a Rage Hypodermic. They seem to fly pretty good.

I like your gear choices! I'm still a Muzzy guy...always had good luck with the Mathews/Muzzy combo.

P.S.E compound and a Barnett crossbow. I use the compound on longer hikes in it's much easier to carry. But the crossbow also has it's benefits main is you can get a shot off while seated..

I've got a Mathews MR8 which I've been hunting with for the last 7 years. Need one with a 33" draw. Got my eye on the Hoyt Double XL but currently spending all my $ on my truck...thanks to this site.

Here's larger image of my MT bull from last year. Can't wait for Sept!

Nice brother! Giving Colorado a try this year (but rifle), hopefully I'll have a decent deer pic to share come October and a bull in November!
