Any aftermarket bumpers compatible with BSM + RCTA?

Looking for any recommendations for an aftermarket bumper compatible with BSM + RCTA if it exists?

I understand the OEM compatible bumper allows the radar to penetrate the plastic shell. All of the metal bumpers I've looked at don't accommodate the sensors and require the system to be disabled.

The other option is to modify a current design, like the Rough Country bumper with the built in steps, to accept the two sensors.

    Recommendations or thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Thread Necro...
Wondering if there's any more options out there, or if anyone has seen/heard of any progress from CBI?
I'm leery of the ICI offering, and don't know anything about Steelcraft or what they cost.

We need to contact CBI and ask for an update. It's been a couple years, which leads me to believe they ran into problems with it. I've sent a few inquiries but so far, crickets.

I reached out to CBI recently and they said "soon" but no official date. They told me to monitor their social media for updates.

Yeah - that's the same story I've gotten from them every time I've asked. From the few glimpses I've seen of it, it like the looks of it over the few other options.
Would like to see the ICI one in person, I like the general look and the lower weight of the aluminum, but the price is nuts! Not digging the Steelcraft look.

CBI is "soon" with no official date. I'm ok with that if they are taking their time to get their design right especially after seeing other vendors jack it up. The CBI front bumper thread certainly diminished my interest in their products but I'll take it as a one off for now.

I feel the same way about ICI, not sure its worth the money they are asking. They have an account on the forums but I don't think they are very active. Some one expressed interest and suggested posting install videos of their products but I haven't seen anything posted since that discussion.

I've not seen any other offerings yet. One of the other vendors was technically "first" to market but pulled their offering shortly after release. Its challenging to support OEM positioning of the BSM sensors while innovating for clearance or some other quality.

Yeah - If I hadn't just backed into a tree this weekend and need to either fix my bumper or replace it, I wouldn't even been looking again right now.
I just looked at the ICI again - no recovery mounts in it. That's another tip toward CBI...but it's still a matter of when they actually release it. If I spent three years designing something at work, I'd lose my job...

I'll have to look at the Steelcraft bumper again unless its the bumper that was pulled from the market. After seeing the issues caused by improperly accommodating the BSM I'm particular about what I would consider slapping on to my truck. If the bumper doesn't provide adequate environmental protections or makes BSM install/removal and calibration difficult it will be a hard pass from me.

    "Covid ate my homework."

Agree with the sentiment, this one is too easy to screw up. I think they were working on integrating swingout arms/trays into the design as well.

Dumb question maybe...Why couldn't you buy the bumper you want and drill holes and mount sensors?? Can this be done? I have the Limited trim and have looked at upgrading bumpers but stopped short because of the sensor issue. Anyone??

BSM is not the same as the parking sonar sensors.
BSM is millimeter-wave radar that cannot be buried behind a steel plate. That's why the BSM/RCTA (same sensor for both functions) trucks all have the resin rear bumper corners.

Well, now I am enlightened. I figured there was a reason it couldn't be done. I like my RCTA. Backing out in parking lots it has saved me multiple when you can't see cars or peds coming across. Guess I am stuck with factory. Thanks for the explanation

    I don't think its a dumb question.

There are two sets of sensors: parking and BSM. parking sensors are small round sensors. BSM is a square looking sensor seated behind both corners of the bumper covers.

The parking sensors detect proximity to an object and could be accommodated by drilling holes in a bumper, main issue I see is getting the angle and spacing right.

The BSM is a radar sensor that needs to be positioned and calibrated a certain way. Its detecting size speed and position, if they are obstructed, in the wrong angle or location they can't function properly.

Strange. They replied to me with this on Sep 27th:

No release date just yet, but keep an eye on our social media and website, we will be sure to post there any news!

Edit: I'm hoping they didn't kill the project.
Second Edit: CBI's was supposed to be out back in April/May according to a different post.

They pulled it shortly after the long BSM bumper thread. Another Tundras member installed it after the last thread and it didn't work properly at all.
It was detecting trees and had all kinds of issues the manufacturer couldn't resolve.

Ahhhhhhh I did not see that part of the saga.
Bummer, that one is local to me and goes on sale constantly for a good price.

It was a separate thread. I think the group buy organizer reported his findings. Sadly it didn't work out.

    No bueno :(

A rear bumper that is BSM compatible is next on my list of "Big purchases I probably shouldn't be making right now but likely will anyway".

Currently looks like the Steelcraft and ICI are the only options…
Steelcraft has recovery/shackle mounts, ICI doesn’t. ICI is lighter, but also made of aluminum…and 2.5x the price.
