So been looking into getting some sort of mount/rack for my full size 35" spare since it won't fit under my truck anymore with the cb shackles installed. Anyone have input on new mounting spot would be appreciated.
    Thanks Guys

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
Some put em on a rack on the roof/lose clearance and risk collapsing the support structure.
Some put em in the bed/takes a lot of space up and can tear up the mounting location depending on how hard you drive and washboards.(I've done that)
Some put it on a custom rear bumper that hinges away to open the tailgate/not bad but combined weight of tire, wheel, bumper, and mount can make you need to re-spring the rear.
You could just put it in the garage.

Yeah roof is out and not a fan of tailgate one. Was hoping for something in the bed.

Pretty much just leaves the bed. Those angled center mounts, like racers and prerunners have, use up most of the bed space. If you are going to stand it up straight either behind the cab or along one side I recommend you design and build a pretty stout custom frame to hold it

Yeah that is kind of what I had once. After running hard about 8 months and living down a dirt road it tore off a section of bed rail. Knowing what I do now I would modify it with at least a 3' piece of angle along the top edge on both sides of the corner and run the base piece out far enough to catch the frame through the bed

But I wonder if there's enough space there on a crewmax?

How much are the shackles in the way? I think it was @bandit who did some chopping underneath to get in 37's.

Or buy a compressor, air it down and shove it in there.

Shackles are about 1" thicker than stock and when I had stock shackles on, only had about 1/2" clearance on each side

Found these ...Last one looks pretty cheap, middle one doesn't really have a locking spot. So I'll have to look into the first one some more

Is the tire not mounted with a cable?
What if you were make a brace to the back of where the tire sits to move it forward. Just throwing out ideas. I havent even had a chance to look under my truck yet.

i have seen some people that put the bracket you normally see flat on the bed vertical against the side of the bed towards the cab and mount some d rings that they lock up the actual tire with. people get pretty fancy with the ideas on here.

I personally would need to stand the tire up. I can't lose that much bed space. Do you need your bed space? If not you have so many more options.

I'm still on the fence about standing it up or laying it down, I use my bed pretty frequently but not to the point where I always need all the bed space.

That's not a bad way to do it, if it were me I'd at minimum run a locking bike chain through the wheel.

In the pasted I used NFAB rear tire mount in the bed of my truck for a full size 35" tire. It also allows you to run a lock on it for security. Here is what I used on a previous truck. Very solid but it will still take up some bed space. IMG_4895.jpg
Here is what I did on my current truck. I installed a Thule rack system since I can install kayak racks, cargo carriers or a rack system like shown below and retain all my bed space. The Thule system is lockable, full adjustable up and down and removes in a matter of minutes. Just a thought. Here is a sample of what it would look like. IMG_4893.jpg

I need 2 spares so had to use the bed. Put an eye bolt in the bed to run a cable lock. just to make it more difficult steal.
