Like most... Im assuming the batt is a late 2014/2015 battery in a 16 truck that sat in the California heat, then I started beating it up. Have plans this summer and test it annually, but realize I'm probably pushing the limits.

Considering a Northstar, Interstate Agm, etc

My 07's OEM battery had the date of mfr on it. Lasted 7 +years. Johnson Control made it. Not sure about the new batteries Toyota is using.

I just replaced the OEM battery in my 2011 last week, it hadn't died but was starting to turn over hard when it was cold,so rather than wait for it to crap out I decided to change it out. By my estimation that battery was 7 years old. So I wouldn't be surprised if your battery has a couple more years in it if you keep the terminals clean, and battery filled with distilled water. If it's turning your truck over good I wouldn't be in a rush to replace it. Hope this helps you out!

I took advantage of the last North Star GB and replaced the battery in my '16. I don't want to have it fail on me when I'm in the middle of nowhere. Besides, I can use the old one in my trailer.

I live in TX and had to change the batt in my 2013 by 2016. The heat does a number on them. It started turning over slow. I replaced it with a Optima and never had another problem. Waiting for the 2018 I've had just over a year to start doing it sometime this summer...

I have a '16 and Toyota replaced my OEM battery under warranty at ~2 1/2 years. (I have no doubt that this will fail just after a group buy ends.)

I'm seeing a trend here fellas... The northerners have battery life that's a year or two ahead of us in California, Texas, Florida, etc. People are jumping to AGM after 4yrs in hot climates..

I had a Ford battery die at 9 months. Fortunately I had boat with me so I just pulled a battery out of the boat. Unfortunately on a Sunday so replacement was on my dime. Tacoma OEM batteries both died at 3 years. Slow starting gave me warning.
