ME! :burnrubber: I will be one of the first in line. I hope all the "leaked" power numbers being thrown around are close to reality.

Our Vice President got to see a prototype and drive one a few months ago. He was super impressed.

    I hope it’s a good one and not 70k

Dear organizer of the skinny water design team FL TRD PRO New Years Eve party,
You MoFos better have some BP additives-free shrimp, single malt scotch, lockers, sunroofs on the PROs, and some 38 gallon tanks that run me to empty w/o warnings, goddamnit.

Just give me a screen with better resolution than a handheld Nintendo gamer from the 90's, some more cab storage options, all switch's lighted in the cab, higher tow and cargo ratings... and the rear locker and I'm happy.

    Dear chief engineer-

i wish you much success in the following with the future Toyota Tundra; here are a few high points I know you have great interest in:

    1) staff- I know its a pain in the ass to control 80-100 engineers directly assigned to you and have to cross-functionally influence and control 300 people on your program.
It is a cruel injustice that the procurement, manufacturing, and program management types have so much influence on your team’s success. I hope you are able to successfully communicate and influence your engineers but even more importantly those other groups.

    2) Your supply chain. I know it hurts when your team designs the most beautiful and perfect part, subsystem, or system only to have it outsourced to the lowest bidder resulting in Quality issues. I hope your major subs manage their suppliers with the same vigor you would.

    3) Tooling- Its not glamorous but I know your program will live and die by the tooling that feed the production line. I pray you have good tool and die makers who don’t succumb to trendy cost saving gimmicks- and they realize the very first time you have to become involved in a tooling issue that cost will likely never be recovered.

    4) Manufacturing- I know somehow once the parts come together and become assemblies it really stings when some hourly operator finds an innovative way to improperly or inadequately assemble your designs. I hope the manufacturing engineers who don’t work for you, write brilliant work instructions.

    5) Quality- Yet another organization who can make or break you; that somehow doesn’t report to you. I know the Toyota Production System is the model all others strive for, but I also know some quality guys are simply looking to prove they are the smartest guy in the room and don’t give a damn about production flow or system level manufacturing.

We’re all rooting for you. We just simply don’t understand why we can’t have everything faster, better, and cheaper.

if you succeed hopefully you make sales. If you “fail” we will burn you at the Holy cross of internet forums.

best wishes- a Line of Business Engineer
