Looking for a cheap tonneau cover for my new crewmax. Roll up style as I will be using it to transport a sled from time to time. I don't wanna spend much as I may be going to a sled deck. I see some on ebay\Amazon for $125 or so, which will fit the bill. This cover doesn't have to be the best, just something to keep stuff in back out of plain view. Anyone have feedback on the el cheapos?

Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.
I got the tonno pro trifold soft cover on sale for 225 back in July. Pretty impressed with it for the price, lots of positive reviews on auto anything.

Thanks, but I'm looking for a roll up. Need to have full access to bed. I have a soft Quad Fold on my Ram that folds up to back window and is great but I don't think company is in business anymore.

So I figured I would pass along my findings. Looking at Amazon Tyger roll up are rather inexpensive and they have good reviews. Normal Price is $189. I then found one called a Maxmate that looks Identical for $200 that has good reviews. But then I found same MaxMate cover for $169 but zero reviews. I then looked on Ebay and found the MaxMate for $157 but it was sold By Tygerauto. I took a chance and sure enough, when it came it was actually a Tyger branded cover. It installed easy and will work for what I need it to do.

So the fit is pretty nice. I have a spray in line and I used the provided foam for bulkhead. The tailgate area seems to seal very well. I used 3 clamps per side with one being only a few inches from TG which helped the seal.

This is the one I picked up almost 2 years ago. I open and close it alteast twice a day, works fine but it has stretched alot. I never liked tonneau covers till I picked this one up I didn't think I'd keep it on but it's pretty handy.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MNT9FXE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I picked it up for 60 bucks it was for an 8 foot bed I cut it down for my tool box.
If you're going for a cheap one I'd stick to a roll up one. I've had buddies buy the cheap tri folds and they tend to break at the hinges.

I have a quadfold on my Ram that is a lease also. It folds up and flips up on back window for full bed access. It was about $375. I really like it but I dont think they make them anymore. I needed full bed use as I might put a snowmobile in it every so often. Being a lease, I think this cheap cover will do the job. I know in 2 yrs I can still get $75 for it.

Did you have to drill to install?

No drilling at all. It was about 15 min install. Tonneau is attached to bulkhead rail. The side rails attach to bulkhead tounge and groove type with one screw each side. 3 clamps hold each side rail. Roll out cover and use adjusting screws on lock grooves located on each side rail to adjust tension. Easy peasy.

That looks identical to the access vanish that I’ve had for 4 years. It gets the job done. It’s not without annoying shortcomings but if you accept the trade offs for the value you will be content.

I’m finally getting rid of mine. If anyone in NJ wants it, it’s urs for free. Replaced it with an X4.

The most annoying thing about the access vanish is the flapping on the highway that occurs no matter how tight, it’s fake leather impression, and cosmetic susceptibility to staining. It is clean looking when not flapping, easy to install and functions just fine for what it is. I have no doubt it would last the life of the truck.

Truxedo was the best roll up I ever owned. I have owned at least 10 or more covers on different trucks...

I have had the one linked below from Amazon on the truck for almost a year now. Zero complaints. It has stood up to the brutal Maine winter (talking -20 at times along with 2' of snow) and the hot summers in direct 85 deg sun like a champ. Tremendous value in my book.

Yea Truxedo is very nice, but when you dont keep a truck longer than yr or 2 it doesnt make sense to spend the money. This $150 one is doing everything it needs to do.

I agree. But I've owned 3 trucks(1984 Nissan, 1998 Dodge Ram, 2006 Ford F150) before this Tundra and kept each of them 8 years. Truck payments suck.

I have only kept one truck for over 2 yrs and that's my 03 Dmax which I still own. It has a fiberglass tonneau on it. As for payments, dont really bother me. Life is short, have fun and drive what makes you happy. And it helps I'm and Auto engineer with many contacts and get very good deals on just about every brand.

On another note..... just drove 1500 miles to Colorado. Washed the truck today and the bed stayed dry except for a few small drops at tailgate. This was a bay pressure washer and then a touchless wash so there was some power. Truck was polished the day it came home and ceramic coated, so I take extra care washing when away from my supplies.

Still looking to give that away? What size bed is it for? I may be local to you. I work in Asbury Park.
