Gathering information ahead of a desire to have a 3-4 inch lift on my 2018 truck. With regard to tires, I have a couple of questions:

    1) is there a lift height at which the stock tires will look awkward (I am not planning on doing any off-road driving)?

    2) is there a larger all-weather tire that will look more appropriate with that lift, and that will actually raise the chassis off of the ground to give more clearance?

Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.
3" lift and 275/65/18 tires looks a bit akward. A 275/70/18 looks better. Look at the Michelin LTX tires, I am running the LTX AT 2's. 3" front lift, 1 1/2" rear and 275/70/18.

Searching across the Internet... I have the Platinum trim with stock wheels (20”) and I suspect that if I want to go with a sidewall with a bigger than 60% ratio, I may have to get new wheels. Does anyone know of a reputable manufacturer that makes a 20” tire with a higher than 60% sidewall?

With no lift you can run 2 different types one for mileage one for traction.
Stock no lift on my 2 Tundras. I just took the 20's off my new truck and put some 18's on. The 20's make for a rougher ride. Kind of like my runflat tires on my C-5 Vette. Mambo143 has a nice setup. Those would fit a stock setup.

    275/70/R18. 33"

    275/60/r20 .33"

I'm currently leveled up front at 1.57" lift and nothing in the back; running the OEM Sport rims 275/55-20. It already looks awkward. LOL , My truck will have a 3" lift up front and 1.5" shackles in the rear. I will be running Falken Wildpeak AT3s 305/65-18 on 18x9 +25.

Personally, I'd dump the 20" rims. They make no sense on a truck (unless its lowered and setup for performance). 18" wheels will give you a better ride and be less expensive. Better yet, go 17" wheels for an even better ride and lower cost.

As for the tires themselves, unless you don't care about mileage, I would pay a lot of attention to the weight of the tires you get. Falken Wildpeak's tend to be one of the heaviest tire in their class/size range. I wouldn't worry about Mountain Snow Flake rating unless you live in a area that gets a lot of snow. I would care more about wet traction as it doesn't matter where you are, you will be driving in rain. Look for tires that have unobstructed circumferential grooves (which most AT tires do not have).

Considering all the factors (i.e. traction, performance, tread life, weight and cost), I think the Cooper AT3 XLT is the best tire out there for a daily driver that sees little offload work. I've run the non XLT version on my last two vehicles (Silverado and 4runner) and have been very pleased do that's what my Tundra will be get (the XLT version) when the time comes.

    Just my $.02

Done, came to the same conclusion and put the on my 18 CM in 315-70RX17 on 6 speed ICON's. Love these tires
Cooper's made in Ohio USA. Falkens made in Japan. Just sayin'

Looks sweet man! How's the brake caliper clearance? What did you do lift wise and how's the ride?

I just took my 4runner in over the weekend to for a tire rotation/balancing and the guy at the tire shop commented on how well the Coopers are wearing. I've got around 40k mi's on them and they still almost look new.

These wheels were made for the tundra so clearance is not an issue. I am leveled at 3/1 with toytec coilovers and rear 1" blocks. Ride is DRAMATICALLY better than the 295-60x20 set up I had on my previous tundra. And I love the tread/sidewalls

I've found my Toyo Extreme A/T's lacking on wet roads. Very poor grip.

Running Michelin Defender LTX M/S on the work truck which is a F-150 extended cab V8 4x4 with a couple tool boxes on the sides of the bed. The tires have been very good. Good traction for dirt roads and very good road manners wet and dry. I've heard they can be a bit rough in the back if you don't have any weight in the bed.

How are you liking the Wildpeaks? I'm considering the same tire next after a level (no rear lift) w/same wheels with a BORA 1.25" spacer. Thoughts?

Exactly same setup as me (I am running 1.25 SpiderTrax spacers). Love the tires. Great on road, dirt, snow, mud (so far). About 6k on the tires.

What he said. They were fine with the 6112 level kit at 1.7. They rubbed the front mud flap thingy which I heated a little and bent forward. I love the tires. Great in snow here and quiet on the road. I hardly notice them. They are 10 ply and heavy but a real truck tire. Good for cornering.
I am going to add wheel spacers this spring for a slightly wider stance and to add fender flares. It’s a lot of tire for the money.

I like the Falkens, but I love the Cooper AT3 XLT's even better, and the fact that the Cooper's are made in Ohio USA vs the Falkens being made in Japan by Sumitomo sealed the deal for me. Just my $.02

I have been thinking about these coopers also however every picture I see there seems to be rocks stuck in treads? Is this just bad photo ops for the tire or me looking too hard

Well, I've been in the car business (service side) for 41 years and I have yet to find a tire, especially a truck tire, that especially when new, would not pick up some rocks. Especially when I just drove up my gravel driveway and parked...

I realize that, I was inquiring about them being stuck in the treads. Every tire in the world picks them up

I hate the BFG ko2's on.my truck now for this very reason! I feel like they somehow even pick up rocks on the opposite side of the road I am driving on. I always hear the sounds hitting the wheel wells and undercarriage of my truck and the paint chips on my trailer are sure signs to that they sling several.

I'm partial to ProComp A/T 10 ply's. No 10 ply rides better than a 6 or 8 ply tire that I have found... but if you drive in West Texas often, 10 ply is the only way to roll offroad. Those jagged rocks love to feast on tread and sidewall's.
