Does anyone know the modified alignment specs with 2.5 inch lift in the front, 1.5 in the back? Taking my truck in tomorrow for its third alignment. I will already be saving $40.00. If you're lifting your truck, get the lifetime alignment plan!

This info is from another Tundra forum, put up by a poster called SoCal57Chevy, he is the go-to guy for alignment help. This is copy/pasted from that thread, this is not my work, all credit goes to it's original poster.

I have used these numbers on my lifted and stock Tundras and will continue to do so. I'm not an alignment expert and I'm not looking to start a huge debate about what is wrong or right with these numbers, I'm merely reposting what works for me.
Remember, "in the green" isn't good enough, you want the exact numbers. If your alignment person can't do it, find somebody else.

    *Begin quote*

Remember...The numbers I'm posting are recommendations only, based on my alignment experience in general. I am not the "be all, end all" of alignments. Every vehicle does not react the same and sometimes the alignment specifications need to be altered for specific vehicles in order to get them to drive decent and/or not wear tires. Alignments numbers for stock, lifted, or lowered vehicles aren't really that different. The difference is what it takes to get those numbers given factory adjustment limitations. For stock and lifted applications, these numbers are within toyota tolerances. (I just narrow down their window of what is "acceptable")

    So.......here's what I recommend.

    STOCK TRUCKS:
Camber: +.1 degree camber on both sides.
Caster: As much as possible without sacrificing +.1 degree camber or causing a cross caster pull.
Toe: +.12 degrees per side for a total toe of +.24 degrees. (some guys have had to drop toe to +.04 to +.5 per side/+.08 to +.10 total toe)

    LIFTED TRUCKS:
Same As Above ... BUT if you have wheels that have more negative offset than foctory wheels, increase the camber to +.2 degrees. (or even +.3 degrees if they just can't get there with the amount of adjustment allowed by the eccentrics) Adjustable upper control arms are available for cases where there just isn't enough adjustment left in the eccentrics to get a decent alignment. Although they are expensive, most guys with lifts have a lot of $$$ invested in tires so you need to make a judgement call.

    LOWERED TRUCKS:
Guys that lower trucks tend to want it to handle the road like a Lambo so I'll give two recommendations. One for improved handling and one for improved tire wear.
    Emphasis On Handling:
Camber: 0 to -.1 degree (watch for inside tire wear)
Caster: As much as humanly possible. Caster causes the front tires to lean into the turn. Installing adjustable upper control arms to increase caster can really make it stick in turns. High positive caster can make it follow ruts/imperfections in the road and cause it to creep toward "full lock" after turning half way to the locks.
Toe: +.12 per side for a total toe of +.24 degrees.
    Emphasis on tire wear:
    Camber: 0 to +.1 degree.
Caster: As much as possible. It won't affect tire wear and we tend to have a hard time getting good caster unless we use drop spindles.
Toe: +.12 degrees for a total toe of +.24 degrees.

Thanks Mike, you just made my life easy! I'll just hand my phone to the guy at firestone tomorrow. I think I read the same on thing on another forum, just couldn't remember where.

Well, I got the truck aligned today and it drives ok. But I can see that the wheels lean out at the top. Camber came out at 0.7 left and 0.6 Right. Didn't get to talk to the tech. Guy at the desk thought that was the best they could do. I'm thinking I might have to piss off my wife and get ucas.

Not the best shot, but the uca is extended down a lot. Big difference from the 2 inch spacers and the 1/2 more with the new coilovers. Thought you could go up to 3 inches without the need for ucas. I could go through the hassle of dropping it back down a bit,but I sure like the way it sits now. I'm mostly on the highway. Some mild off road now and then. Planning on going with 275/70/18, so they should fit either way.

I had the ProComp 7" lift on my 2014 with stock UCAs and they were able to get those numbers two times in 22000 miles.

Yeah, I think they should be able to do better. I had it sitting better than that just by putting the lowers the way they were before I swapped the coilovers. I'll have to talk to the guy that runs the place. Bunch of kids there yesterday.

Wouldn't it be the opposite anyway, if the aftermarket ucas are longer to make up for the added droop then the top of the wheels wouldn't adjust out far enough.

@Joeshaker here is a copy of my alignment sheet. I'm at 3/1.5 lift. All my arms are all Oem. Hope it can help. I wouldn't settle for your numbers.

Caster has affects on camber. Have them dial back the Caster down to see how that affects your camber. I know they said that more caster is better but it is actually max caster that camber permits. Hope that helps.. good luck

That's what I'm thinking, the tech sacrificed camber for caster.

FWIW, I've got 2.25 level in the front. I couldn't stop wearing tires until I got -0.1 camber. Caster is 2.something, steers and responds great. Took a few tries, but my son in law is a mechanic so I could hover over him until it was good and it only cost me a few beers and some babysitting.

I'd buy him a few beers to, if I wasn't in Colorado! I'm going back to Firestone tomorrow after work to talk to the boss. Maybe they'll let me hover this time. Probably gonna get UCAS, ball joint boots are already leaking. Only 23K on the truck. 10K with two inch spacers. So probably worth it. Better all around. Now I just have to figure out which ones are the best without breaking the bank.

You're in CO. Get someone that knows lifted vehicles to do it. Many of us CO guys (myself included) went to see @LOTSOFTOYS at Stevinson to do ours.

Hey Sean, I've been thinking about taking it to stevenson. But I paid for lifetime with firestone, so since its already paid for, I'm going to give them another chance to get it right.

What do you think of the zone offroad UCAS? I'm thinking about just doing them. For $450 to get better handling and no issues getting the alignment right, seems like it would be worth it.

I've been looking at them too. Will they work with factory 18" trd rims from a 15? Looks like with the zones I'd have to add spacers. Had them on my first gen. Not again.

So, I took the truck back to Firestone and got it aligned again. It looks and drives better. But the before and after shows the before different than the after from Sat! What the hell. And they told me that positive camber is the top of the wheels leaning in toward the engine. I've got an appointment with stevinson toyota in a couple weeks for the zero point calibration. Gonna have to take your advice Sean and get Jace over there to dial it in. As for ucas, I'll get them when the factory ball joints take a crap.

So how bad did they screw my alignment up? I requested the stock specs mentioned in the 2nd post.

Didn't notice until after I left that I think they tried to go with +1.0 and not +0.1

That's too much, firestone had mine the same way. Took it back and they got it to +0.2 both times they said it was the best they could do. They also tried to tell me that positive is the camber is the opposite of what it is! Your wheels are tilted out at the top right? Outside edge is going to get scrubbed. I'm taking mine to the dealership and having Jace, a member on here to get it ddialed in. If you are in Colorado, you might want to go to stevinson west and have him do yours. Or try hovering around the shop and keep on them till they get it right.

Bring it to me.... u don't have ucas tho do u? they raised both caster camber up positive to achieve caster in spec.... not a smart move because camber wears tires. caster needs to be sacrificed to achieve good camber numbers
