    Hello Tundras.com

I have a 2026 Tundra, when I get an alert ie: parking sensor not working (snow/dirt covered) or tire pressure (which I have not - it's like 1psi off normal). Is there a way to hide, silence, file the Alert? Currently all the other functions of this part of the dash, far left, get hijacked by the error. I get it need to fix the issue, but on a road trip or whatever, I would rather have the option to turn off the constant notification, and just see the highlighted Alert icon, and used the compass function, fuel efficiency, etc., etc.,

    Many thanks

    Pete

    Hello Ardnut!

thanks for the vid. this is useful info, and did find out the long way how to silence the reversing issue, Tundra would slam on the breaks with bike rack on, thankfully figured that out. What I am still looking for help with is how to basically cancel an alarm, I think ur Tundra has the same digital dash? Thus, far left when you get a warning, tire pressure, sensor blocked, I would like to confirm the alarm, file it, then have the ability to select the function I desire ie: compass, trip info, gas mileage average etc., rather than just see the warning. Thank you!

If you go into the options menu in the dash that has all of the safety features you can turn off the one that’s giving an error and that will cancel the warning. E.g. my parking sensors and radar were covered in snow so I turned off forward collision and parking sense. You can also hold down the cruise control button to disable radar cruise control and enable regular cruise control.

Can't you just hit the Arrow button on the steering wheel? It shows a little arrow icon on the displayed message to dismiss it. Might be different with the digital dash as I have a 2022

If you just dismiss it, it will keep popping up every few seconds… forever and ever.

whenever i've gotten an alert, i've always 'dismissed' it with the return arrow on the left side of the steering wheel. granted, it only goes away for a few minutes and then comes back to alert you again, but you can at least temporarily dismiss it.

edit: i see a couple of others posted at the same time that i was typing.....

It is ridiculous that turning crap off results in a bight orange light on the dash. Should be a light only when that crap is on.

you can, yet, in a matter of a few seconds, the old alert will come back and remain on the screen.

This is the thing I hate most about my '25 Tundra (ignoring small probability of engine failure). In our '12 Honda, you get such an alert at startup and then delete. It doesn't come back until you restart the vehicle. This is how it should be programmed. If you get a tire just under the PSI threshold with the 3rd gen Plat, your console on the left-side becomes worthless..... annoying!!!!

You cant. You silence them, then they come back immediately, and hide everything else like you said. It’s ridiculous.

Last weekend drove 100 mi both ways to meet relatives for dinner. Light flurries the whole trip. Four times had to get out and attempt to clear the accumulated slush from the front. Was driving me crazy with the ongoing alerts popping up and the cruise kicking off. Front PVM camera and Premium Led headlights were pretty much useless also.. Technology is so wonderful !!

You do know you can turn those nannies off so they won't alert you, right?

I flew a pretty nice jet for many years. When a caution came up (amber light needing attention, not the big red light) we could see the fault on a screen, and then silence the chime and disappear the message. The caution could always be recalled, but the screen did not keep popping up with the fault, and the associated chime was silenced. Then I get in my Tundra and every 15-30 seconds the caution returns. It is so totally annoying, and actually distracting.

Right… but you need to pull over, stop and put it in park. Dig into your settings on the main screen to disable. Then dig back into the settings and restore after resolving the cause or causes.

I just leave the nannies off permanently. No alerts and you never have to mess with the settings again. You will have an orange indicator on your dash for every nanny you turn off, but I've gotten use to that.

The settings are in the instrument cluster accessed from the steering wheel. I don't pull over to navigate those menus, but that's just me

Is there a way for dealer tech to change the alert to once per start or with Carista/similar? I have no experience programming but maybe the guys that have changed other alerts know.

for several years i have been using the orange rain-x winshield washer fluid. the more you use it, the more it builds an invisible coating on the windshield that will have water just sliding right off.

    Don't disagree.

But the annoying nannies, that can be disabled permanently, are the least of my concerns with my truck. I can deal with the orange indicator lights.

The worst two to me are the tire pressure notification when the weather changes and the low washer fluid. Hit the arrow, dismiss them for a while and then they are right back up.

Yeah, this tire pressure one bugs me the most. I live in an area where daily high/low temps have wide variation. My tire pressure readings vary quite a bit.

I think you can wait for a cold morning, when the tires are at their lowest pressure, then re-pair the TPMS system. That way the warning light won't come on until your tires get below that new lower baseline setting.

I've never done it, but I vaguely remember seeing a video about it.

Someone please correct me, if I'm wrong.
