I got a small one for xmas and I'm liking it so far. Just the fact I can cook small meals for 1 or 2 in it is good enough for me. It takes about 3 minutes to get up to temp as opposed to my oven which takes 15-20. First thing I made was frozen chicken tenders and tater tots. Took 12 minutes and they came out great.

Today I made "donuts" I used pillsbury sweet Hawaiian biscuits. Cut a hole with a shot glass and cooked them at 400 for 2-3 minutes per side. Brushed a little butter and cinnamon and sugar on top and they were delicious. Next up I'll top with maple syrup obviously. I can fit 3 donuts and 3 donut holes in my fryer. Very simple and quick.

Anyone have any air fryer recipes they would like to share?

I was watching an infomercial on the "power air oven." Where they have 3 or 4 racks and can do rotisserie as well. The upside to it was air goes all the way around being on the racks. I thought about purchasing 1 based off the stuff they were cooking. Ive always been interested in them, for the fact that you could fry seafood without the grease and still maintain seafood flavor. Donuts sound delicious and easy.

My daughter has one and swears by it. I’ve had some of the stuff she cooked in it and it’s good. A lot less messier and supposedly healthier than deep frying. She bought me one of the bigger ones for Christmas. I haven’t had time to try it out yet. Probably will this weekend. Looking forward to it. I’ll report back once I use it.

5 won't work, Jose. You'll be cooking in batches for sure. Can't beat a good old cast iron pot and some oil, nothing compares to that.
Make no mistake, an air fryer is not a deep fryer and can not replace one.

How does it work with a "wet" batter like beer batter. I can't see how it would work at all???

I grew up in a restaurant and actually still love cooking in spite of it. Seen these types of machines in the past (infrared fryer didn't do much for me).
So how is this thing different that a good convection oven?
Can you actually fry in one, like battered shrimps...hhmmm shrimps...

I have the rosewill fryer. Was like $50 on Amazon. So far so good.

I highly recommend the donuts made from packaged biscuits. Especially the sweet Hawaiian pillsbury. Yum

Which is why I haven't bought one. I do use a deep cast iron pot with a thermometer to check temp.

That's the best way to fry. Air fryer wouldn't work for more than 4 servings at a time IMO

I spray them with a little oil so they don't stick, then just chuck them in.

Cook at 385 degrees for about 40 minutes. About every 15 minutes I give them a couple turns to make sure they cook evenly.

I take them out when they're super crispy, then shake them in sauce.

The sauce is usually a mixture of Franks, butter, chili powder, garlic powder, and a little lime juice.
