Aftermarket CAI

I just put a S&B CAI on my truck. Who else has put an aftermarket CAI on their truck? Did you get better gas mileage? Mine has been on for a few days and I took the battery cable off while installing it as directed. So my mpg reset to 0. So it started climbing and is at about 11.4. It was at around 14-15 before putting it on. Hope it keeps climbing.

 

Better mileage with the same intake you have but I have ano exhaust to compliment it as well.

 

Hoping I can get better mileage with stock exhaust until I decide if I'm putting on an aftermarket exhaust.

 

FYI- If you have your average mpg display up on your dash, you can press and hold the "DISP" button to reset it. I reset my trip meter and my avg mpg everytime I fill my tank. I also calculate it manually everytime.

 

I have same CAI most I'm getting is 13mpg light on pedal

 

What were you getting before the CAI?

 

Same... real no big difference louder engine noise with side cover off I'm running 35s

 

Yeah running 35s too with the side cover off. Does sound nice. But was hoping it would help with the MPG.

I believe I've read somewhere on here that the S&B helps with mpg as well as "the truck feels lighter - like loosing weigh". That is my future mod plan so I will follow this thread very closely.

I'm getting about 16 average and almost 20 on the highway. no lift or tires yet though either

 

I have an Afe Intake, not really a significant gain in MPG. It all adds up, I can't say how much because I had an exhaust on my truck prior to the intake install. The bullydog's Eco tune also helped, drove about a thousand miles and my Est MPG started going up again. I don't base any gains off the trucks MPG but rather my own calculations.
