Found a decent deal on a 2013 Tundra 4x4. Carfax/Autocheck and simple pre-purchase inspection looked good.

Had Toyota mechanic take a much closer look (post purchase fine tooth comb...sigh, you see where this is going). They found some minor coolant leaks on the transmission cooler - said it might just need a few gaskets /rings, or could be something bigger. They were concerned that the transfer-case/transmission had been out of the vehicle for unspecified/unknown reasons, and didn't typically see transmission issues with this model/year (one reason we picked that one).

If anyone has any half or whole-baked ideas on how worried I should be or if they had any similar issues (or any red flags as to why they might have pulled the transfer case and transmission).

I'm in touch with the dealer to see about a resolution (we have some weak lemon laws on the books in AZ). I'm resigned to the fact that I might be investing in repairs sooner than later, but hoping someone on here has an opinion or 3 about this issue.

    thx in advance.

bummer of a "new member introduction" post. (i trawled this site for a few months leading up to the purchase...so it feels like i've been on here for longer)

    Welcome from Phoenix.

If it's a reputable dealer they should work with you.

    Good luck.
