Hi all. I’m looking at having katzkin seats with the heated and cooled options installed and was wondering who has them and what they think of them? Also did you put oem switches in dash or use whatever switches they provided?

I have Katzkins with the heater (no cooling option). They are very comfortable and changed the comfort level of my SR5 seats. I had the buttons installed on the side of the seat next to adjustment. I also had a lumbar adjustment added to the manual passenger seat. Best $1270 I spent.

    ETA- Oh yeah Go Cubs!

I had Katzkins put in a year ago. I didn't go with the heated and cooled option but by far the best mod I have ever done.

I went with a leatherseats kit that was recommended by my installer. After seeing Katskinz at the dealership, I regret not going with Katskinz. The fitment looks way better

I got a couple of quotes for $1800 for katzkins. Those were authorized katzkin installers. I called another upholstery place and they quoted me no more than $300 for the install. I was planning on installing mine myself but if they do an excellent job for $300....they can have at it.

I'd suggest calling non katzkin installers as well.

Yeah, that may be the way to go. Want to add leather and heat, don't want to spend $2200....lol.

Shop around for an installer. I went through the Katzkins website to find authorized installers and prices varied as much as $400

From the website I have probably 8 or 9 authorized installers in my area, so thanks for the tip of shopping around.

No these were installed by the business in my area that installs them for the dealers. They charged me what they charge Toyota, did the same with my spray in bed liner.

Were they aftermarket switches installed? I would like to keep my truck close to oem appearance as possible so wondering if harness is already set up to accept factory switches

There was no factory switch option for me. I used the catkins round switches and had them mounted on the lower side of the seat next to the seat controls. I had an option of mounting them on the console but chose not to drill into it.

I just finished installing katzkin leather and heated seats in my 19 crewmax last week. I have been working on cars for many years and I must say that this was one of the most time consuming and difficult projects. I have spent approximately 20 hours of solid work on this. Next time I will definitely have the shop do this.

I found a local shop that quoted me $350 if I provide the covers. I'll probably take em up on that! Hope yours turned out well.

That's a great price. Make sure they take all the wrinkles out of the leather. I spent quite some time on that.

Well hell. AlmightyCrash's DIY thread made it look sooooo easy. I ordered a set yesterday with the same heater as Crash used from eBay during the 15% off deal. With shipping and a set of hog-ring pliers, I'm in at $540. We'll see how this turns out. I know an installer that I can take it too it it becomes too difficult. I guess I should start with the passenger side seat first so I don't have to drive on a milk crate.....

Good luck. I paid 570 for the seats, another 90 for the heated pads and 20 for the hog plier/rings set. You got these for a great price!

I got katzkin leather and heated seats, wanted to get the cooled ones but heard they didn't really work that well. Order the leather kit and heat pads from a dealer on ebay and had a local guy install b/c it was something I didn't want to tackle, ran me under 1k total installed. Buttons were installed to the right of the card holder in between the cup holder and the center arm rest.

My seats were basic black leather though which is fine for just heat, but if you get cooled you may need perforated leather for better flow.

Do you get extra padding? I find the oem seats are a but hard on the back side. I got a quote yesterday for black, no thrills installed for just over $1,000.00
