That's why I was asking as not to have any confusion. I think the 06 was the only year first gen with TPMS maybe 05 too and I certainly don't have one so I'm not sure either. Early TPMS probably wasnt super fancy.

My truck is an 06 and it has the reset button on the left below steering wheel. Manual says it is for resetting the pressure sensor light after adjusting the pressure to the correct setting. I don't know about re-doing any of the settings the onboard computer already has stored.

Barrett50 I took the truck to a Discount Tire shop today and the guy tried to "find" the sensors with their shop scanner, even though I told him that the previous tire shop found them with a Snap-On scanner. Also, he didn't ask me to turn on the key, start the engine, or anything at all in the truck. Doesn't the key have to be on to provide a "bleep" from the sensors? I wish I had just took it to the dealer and had them do all of this. I now have an appointment for Feb 2nd with a dealer service. They said that they would have to remove a wheel, break it down, get the number from the sensor, and try to match it. $120 whether they are successful in solving my problem or not. If this fails I'm going to have someone remove the sensors and throw the bastards in my pond.

I’m confused, you said you took it back to the original shop and they fixed the issue. The lite came back on? Did I miss something?

Other members here have disabled TPMS all together which will make the light stop flashing on your dash board. I will try to see what I can come up with.

I second this. Thought you had it going now. Still having other issues?

I thought they had fixed it, since they were able to scan the TPMS sensors and the flashing TPMS light went out. Now I think they just disabled the system to get me off of their backs.

So the light isn’t on? Why do you think they disabled the “system”? Because Discount Tire couldn’t scan them?
If the light is off, my advice would be, just keep an eye on your tires like you have since you started driving years ago. It’s not like they read exact pressure. You still have to check them.

That's probably sound advice for everyone. I guess I'm just stubborn. I should have taken it to a dealer in the beginning, but I didn't get half way out of the poor house by being rich. So I bought sensors from Amazon, paid to have them put in, and now I'm out almost as much as I would have spent had I taken it to the dealer in the first place. I'm an old stubborn fart and I believe if something is made to work, it should work...first time, first try. Not after jumping through hoops for 2 months trying to get it to work. There are so many different do this's and do that's when it comes to sensors. One sensor should work on all tires. It's like when computers made USB ports, then I was able to connect stuff without fifteen different wires, nine different adapters, and 300$ worth of stuff and four days of yelling and cussing. I guess they do it to make everything proprietary so folks HAVE to buy their products. STANDARDIZATION is a good thing as long as everyone agrees. If one guy has a problem with standardization, then it never comes to past.
