This past weekend, a buddy and I have been planning on going down to Clayton, OK for a weekend of craziness. Well that fell through, and we had been planning for a few months, so we made due with what CO has to offer.

    We decided on Rangely, CO.

Here are some video clips of the drive out. I just turned on the video camera on the phone and checked later what I did. Yeah, 80% of the videos were junk due to not knowing what I was taking video of.

I-70 West. We had a late start, by about 5 hours. We ended up needing to build some drive over fenders on my friends low boy.

As you can see, the road is rough. I had my elbow into the center console, so the vibration and major movement was how rough the road is. We both decided not to go on I-70 until at least July. The road is just shit.

We stopped in Glenwood Springs to see a friend, and then headed back out around 10PM, with a few more hours to go towing in the mountains, and no planned camp site.

We did pretty good on selecting a site at midnight.

Here are some pics of the off-roading festivities:

We ran into some of my favorite animals. Glad I brought the Velcro Gloves...right @Eclipsed & Floating?

Then someone had a few issues with a U-Joint....

We packed up and took CO 139 down south to Grand Junction. I haven't been on this highway in a long time, but I can say this, it is a harder pull than Vail Pass in either direction. Great views!!

We ended up removing the front axle, and some full circle clips popped out of the u-joint cap. we used a press and put the clips back in and that was a cheap, easy fix. I was reminded on why Chevy Dana 60 front brake calipers suck ass crack.

We decided to just stay the night in Grand Junction out on 21 Road and head back the next day.

As we all have seen, the Ike Gauntlet TFL videos, and testing on Vail Pass. They only do a small portion of the pass. It is actually a lot longer. So enjoy!!

I was towing ~8200. I averaged 12.9 mpg which I thought was pretty good...until my friend told me what he got.
My buddy was towing 14000. Averaged 14.1 mpg.

Now after one summits Vail Pass, you get to go down....then back up.

This is where TFL Trucks testing grounds are. You might recognize a few things if you have watched any of their videos. This is the Eisenhower Tunnel they race up and try to keep it at 8 min.
