I've got a bone stock 2012 5.7 and need to hear the true sound of the V8. I'm looking for something loud and deep, but not too throaty or poppy. I'm trying to avoid droning on the highway as well.

    ^ this.
@dirtydeeds is the man when it comes to Tundra exhaust.
His systems bolt on to the existing OEM pipes, no cutting, no welding for most of them.
That way, you can switch it back to stock if needed.

I've run his 8",10", and 12" BAM systems.
The 10" with his resonator is the sweet spot.
The 8" was a little loud and raspy when I jumped on it.
The 12" sounded too close to stock.
The 10" was perfect, I'd remote start the truck as I walked up to it just to hear the BAM.
The drone is minimal, a little less than stock IMO.

Give Keith a call and discuss your wants and needs; loudness, towing, etc., and he'll recommend a system for you.
Best customer service, and he is a forum vendor.
He does have sales from time to time, so be aware.

Borla makes a great alternative to the TRD exhaust if you want to go for a dual exhaust. Not oversized for NA applications, H-pipe to help scavenge at low rpm and get rid of the dual exhaust “chop”, and made out of 304 stainless. Several different sound options available.

Dirty Deeds BA muffler. Had the ten inch on my 2008. No drone on highway. Great sound. If you like super loud straight pipes sound Keith can hook you up with that too. He has many options for your truck. Good luck. D
