I'm really surprised. Seems nothing else bipartisan has happened. This seems so random. Cool to have more nature though... now that everyone wants to "overland", it's been feeling crowded.

Yeah, but they will cut the budget for maintenance and patrol

Parks are a tough one for me... The government takes this land out of the tax base then raises taxes to preserve, maintain, and take care of it. I love to take my family camping, but the state and federal campgrounds are so over booked and crowded that we don't even bother trying to book a trip 6 months in advance. We just stay at private campgrounds. Seems like everything the government "owns" gets screwed up. On the other hand if we don't preserve it our kids will never get to see it. Corporate greed has no limits and if they think there are any resources that can be stripped out of the ground in exchange for little green pieces of paper, then this land would be trashed in a week.

Sorry, not a fan of big government and can't get excited about them confiscating more land just so they can mismanage it later.

What was Reagan's bit about the scariest words in the English language... I'm from the government and I'm here to help!

I’d keep this focused on parks and not politics or someone is going to get busted.

Public lands and parks are different. Public lands belong to the people (all citizens).

Now that you know you have access to millions of acres get out there and check them out!

I like the fact that Native Alaskans who served in Nam will be able to homestead 160 acres. Homesteading was shut down up there back in the 70's I do believe.
