I have 3380 miles on my 2019 Platinum. Over the last few days, it’s struggled to start and the battery light comes on. I’ve done no electrical upgrades/changes. Battery tests at 12V with everything off and 14V when the engine is running. Sounds like a classic dead battery. Plugged a charger on it on 2 amp and 6 amp and both times it said the battery was fully charged.

I’m going to call the dealership in the AM for an appointment, but I’m wondering what could be the problem?

Bad battery cell bro. Same thing happened to me after only a year. Battery replaced under warranty.

I've never had a good Toyota OEM battery on any vehicle. Even though it's free to replace under warranty you should consider buying an aftermarket AGM battery instead.

My battery was fine but after reading a bit about them going without warning I picked up an Interstate for the piece of mind.

Check your ground from the battery to the frame. Tight and no corrosion.

Probably is still a bad battery, but it still happens often.

When I bought my 2016 sequoia the battery lasted couple months. I couldn’t let the truck sit more than two days without starting it. They replaced the battery with a stronger one and has been working fine these late couple years.
