If you want to go bigger than a 275/70 or 285/65 you’ll need spacers with those wheels.

why is that? because it rubs the upper control arm?

Yeah, the sweet spot for offset on a 3” lift is generally +18 to +30. Though I’m running wheels with a +12 on 295/70’s and a 3/1.5 lift and only rubbed on the front liner.

275/70 has no rub on 18" TRD wheel on 2018. This is the largest I was advised would work without modification

Check out @Law323’s build in the 2nd gen section. He’s running that size with a 3” front lift as well.

Thanks, one of the few colors that look good with chrome.
Yeah that's a tough call. Good luck in your decision making.

A 295/70 or a 35 is the biggest you could go, and you’d need 1.25” spacers. BORA is a commonly used spacer that size.

and with a 1.25" wheel spacer can i still use my factory studs? and should i expect excessive wheel bearing issues?

Might need to push the liner forward, but that’s easy. A CMC is a possibility, but with the offset you’d be at with spacers you’re in the right range to avoid it. Off the top of my head, Toytec sells em.

Not sure on the studs, and haven’t heard of any wheel bearing issues with spacers. @csuviper did you have any issues with yours? I’d say look through the wheel and tire section, there may be something in there.

Yes you can use factory studs.
I didn’t have any issues at all and I believe I had the wheel spacers on for 3 years

Very nice-looking truck. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks cement looks good with chrome! I was all set to de-chrome right away, but then the more I looked at my truck the more I realized I didn't not like the way it looked with chrome. That, plus I hate spending $$$ if I don't have to. That said, if Toyota ever gets around to releasing that TSS-P-friendly TRD Pro grille I might have to bite...

Ronald, your truck looks great! You don't have any rubbing, not even turning, in reverse? That's winning!

This is great! Finally, some info I'll hold on to, for when it's time for replacement tires. I'd like a tiny bit more clearance off road, but not a lift for looks.

Well, shoot. I did forget that. For reasons I don't know, I always get comments that my TRD truck looks "leveled" but it came this way from the dealer. No hurry but, when you get a few minutes, please will you measure your truck at the front, from mid-hub to ground, and from mid-hub to the edge at the lip of the fender-- then get the same measurements at the rear?, and, if you do, share them with me (and the OP).

I've never needed to know if my lift really is a bit off in a good way-- but knowing what it is in comparison to yours would help me know if it's realistic to stuff bigger tires on without more lift. No hurry (these are new tires, and I practice great discipline resisting most of what I don't need).

If you can do this, thanks in advance!

    None...yet
So no leveling kit with the 295/70/18 tires? I have the TRD Off Road but was looking at adding 2.5' to the front because I think it needs a little adjustment.

I keep reading conflicting things about running 295's on the stock TRD Offroad and 2017 era TRD Pro wheels. I was told that you'd be hitting the UCA without using spacers on 295's, but it seems like that isn't the case for everyone. I'd rather not run spacers if I can avoid it, but I'm planning to run 295/70/18 with about 2.5" lift up front.
