I saw where you can buy a 3" spacer and 2" block from BDS for our trucks. I've already got the Toytec Boss kit in the cart waiting to see how my tax return is going to look. Obviously, I know the Boss suspension would be better than the spacers and blocks. But if you went with spacers, would you still need new shocks and UCA's or just the differential drop?

You're not trying to stack them are you? You know what don't answer that question! LOL!!

Its always better to swap out the suspension if the budget can support it. Spacers are okay and upper control arms help bring back some much need caster and help to get a more true alignment. If you do spacers try not to make it permanent. You'll accelerate the deterioration on those factory struts. You're gonna need longer shocks in the back anyway if you do the 3/2 to make sure you're not over exaggerating the rear shocks.

Noooo! Haha I was just comparing the two. My plan is to buy the Toytec, but a guy at the Toyota place mentioned the 3/2 spacer lift to me. So I was just curious about it.

It doesn't matter what lift you get usually anything over 3in u want ucas and a diff drop. shocks aren't really necessary. But it all depends what you are using the truck for

Let me ask you what do you plan to do with the truck?

She's a pavement princess. Haha very light towing and not frequently. Worst place it would go is down the path to our gun range, but that's a dirt road that's just a little bumpy.

Spacers lift is the most inexpensive way to go about leveling the truck and if you drive pavement don't go off-road it will be fine.

If you plan to hit the trails you are going to want something else. I've had spacers coilovers strut lifts spring lifts you name it. But it comes down to what you want to use the truck for

Then quite honestly a spacer lift will be fine but of course for just a little more cash you can get better options like bilstien 5100s full set of them for like 350$ and will level your truck and keep you stock travel. That's the best bang for the buck.

And if you haul and tow maybe look into a leaf pack helper spring or air bags for the rear.

One thing to keep in mind is toytec isn't a rebuildable shock like fox and king which are just a little more cash you can rebuild those and have a good investment. But it's all up to you and what you want to spend.

I'm just looking to go a little above level. Add a touch of lift just to make me feel better. Haha

If you go toytec you will want 650ln spring unless u want a off-road bumper winch etc then get the 700lb spring

The only advatange I see in the toytecs over a regular bilstien 5100 is they are a adjustable coilovers 0-3 and you can get a lower spring rate for a more plush ride. If you just want to level it out save you cash and just get 5100s but again all up to you.

Well you say the fox and king are able to be rebuilt, so is there a set of those I could buy that would level it out like the 5100s?

Fox 2.0 is the least expensive shock which is a coilovers it will get u level or close. Next is the 2.5 coilovers 0-3 inches or just over and king has the oem series coilovers. King and fox are like toyotec adjustable 0-3in so you can dial it in. They are rebuildable when they good bad. But of course they are a little more coin

And again if you don't plan to off-road or anything i wouldn't waste my money on a high dollar coilovers

But not to the driver so that can be good or bad. There's just not really enough there for me personally to buy toytec system when you can spend a little more and get a rebuildable coilovers with a 2.5 body. But that's just me

I'm not trying to saying anything bad about toytec I'm sure they are a great coilovers system and are more than enough for 80% of the people here. It all comes down to wants and needs

And if you do decide to do a spacer lift at least change out the bump stops.

I've talked to my Toyota dealership and they will install the Toytec lift for me. I've already got it quoted and everything. If I got them to order the blistering shocks, is that literally just replace those shocks and the truck is leveled?

Aren't all shocks needed to be rebuilt? I believe Fox and King need to be rebuilt sooner iirc

Sure and like I said they are perfect for most here. It's just that piece of mind when you spend that much cash and when they do go bad you just have to toss them in the garbage.

But if they last x amount of years, what's the cost of replacing the Toytec vs rebuilding another brand? I'm not very educated on shocks or rebuilding them, so just curious.

    See fine print
I have lowrangeoffroad spacer lift with CB shackles in the rear. It rides just like stock and like everyone has said above it is ok if your a pavement princess.

I eventually want to get coilovers just for a better ride and better shocks. The stock ones feel to floaty for me like a boat. I want something sportier eventually.

Are icon coilovers rebuildable @xtyfighterx ?
I was looking into toytec as an option but if they are not rebuildable I may go a different route...
