I have a 2000 tundra. I have to replace the engine. I was wondering if anyone knows if any other toyota engines are compatible. For example, if a 02 Tundra engine would fit, would an 02 Sequoia?

yep bank account is running low from it..
If my memory is correct you can go-to 03 after that Toyota put more on the engine emission wise which more wiring is needed. Plus they started vvti to the engine in 2004 I believe so that's a no go unless you pull the harness and replace it.

Side note what's wrong with the engine you have now?

It's got 287k and leaking and burning oil like crazy. Then it seized up on me the other day.

Where are you? I have a friend with a 2000 Tundra parts truck, 240 km if memory serves right, good runner. Truck is rusty and the tranny went.

If you plan on keeping the truck buy a remanufactured engine.
