Hello everyone! I went from a '96 Tacoma to a 2012 Tundra to a 2016 Tacoma, and now I'm back in a 2017 Tundra TRD Off Road. By far my favorite and never again will I drive a V6. There's nothing like the power of a Tundra!

I have almost the same story. 2010 Tundra, 2015 Tacoma, now a 2017 Tundra.

Welcome from CO. My 09 Taco had the 2.7L 4 banger. Apparently better than the 16 Taco V-6 from all accounts. (not really, the 2.7L came with the manual tranny and was somewhat wussy. The manual made all the difference.)

Tonneau cover had to get replaced due to broken pieces out of the box. My ICI Magnum RT Steps are in my hall and ready to install when the snow stops. Thinking a lift of some sort but i'm new and asking for some advice as my main goal is to toughen the stance and no intention of heavy off road until it gets beaten up a little. leveling kit vs full suspension is the question. Budget is a factor.

Pictures coming once i get the first few pieces together. Until then, it's just another Tundra

I get it. I wasn't impressed since i live at 11,000 feet. It shifted and slipped way too much. Rear suspension bottomed out everyday and i was worried about longevity in the tranny. Great trucks, just not what i needed.

I hear you loud and clear...5.7L is crazy compared to any V-6. 11K ft...where if I may ask? You don't have to be specific. (North America. heh..heh) No doubt nice...

Alma, Colorado...just south of Breckenridge on the continental divide. It's serious up here and the shifting of that V6 was intolerable even with the software "fix"

Why did I think you lived in CO? I was actually narrowing it down to Leadville but Leadville is "only" around 10K.

There's a big debate on elevation between Alma and Leadville....Alma wins but Leadville won't admit it!

Zoom in. It says highest town in North America. At this elevation the 5.7 matters

By the way, has your weather been good lately? It's been like spring here in Denver Metro for the last few days. But then again this time of year some folks want more snow. I guess "good weather" is relative to what we like here in CO. :annoyed:

I just checked WIKI, "Alma, however, has a contiguous residential area (on Mountain View Drive) extending to 11,680 feet (3,560 m) above sea level." Higher than Leadville in my book!!

It doesn't even matter once you get that high up...it's brutal in the winter, especially when that fantastic hurricane strength wind kicks in

I bet you know some decent places to go near Alma that aren't in any "trail guide" books. I know a few places near Denver where I go. Nothing crazy but beautiful. A lot of folks here on this forum want to know "where" to go here in CO. Of course there are the "popular" places that everyone wants to hit here in CO. , including myself. But then again, I don't want to get too specific. If anyone here wants to come out here, I don't have a problem showing them. I have some hunting/camping spots that are pretty cool. I just don't want to broadcast exact locations since this is the "net" for all to see. (Damn, I forget that small detail a lot)

She's dirty but stays that way for months. Everytime I wash her it snows....
Obviously, pre-build pics so stay tuned for mods to come. Only 3 weeks old so the only mods so far are the Husky mats and the tonneau.....so i have somewhere out of the elements for the kids to ride....they aren't allowed in the cab. They're teens

    Thank you sir.
It's good to be back in a Tundra after the 11 month Tacoma hiatus. Don't get me wrong...I love Tacomas. The 2016 just didn't have the power and it shifted WAY too much for the elevation and severity of hills I climb. All in all I'm getting better gas mileage than the Tacoma because of the transmission
